In Game Music

So I've recently come back to the game after a long hiatus, and I'm enjoying my time so far. One of the things I found the most immersive about Neocron was the in game music. It was fantastic. However, as I'm playing I notice there is no music in Plaza, Via Rosso, Pepper Park etc, outside of the music found when entering certain stores. I checked my game options and have checked game music off and on, yet it still doesn't work. Is this a known issue? I'd like to have this music back.

It's an issue with running NC in Windows Vista/7/8. You can get in-game music working by running the game as Administrator, but this is a Bad Idea.

Setting client.exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2 will fix your issue. :)

That can result is other problems though :p
Would love if the music was a thing to get fixed in a patch, sometime in the future - not that I use it, but a day every 2-3 years would be nice :D
