It is not possible to stop it - you can only try and make it harder for them spammers (not all are bots btw - like gold farming in games, poor folks get paid to manually register and bypass human verification systems). I think our spam control is pretty good now. It will remain a cat and mouse game for sure ... so what stops spam today may be vulnerable to huge amounts of spam tomorrow ;)
