The Cyclop Launchers can't hit a Drone if it's flying high in the air.

The problem is that the Launchers can't target and shoot up in the air.

This isn't a bug. It's called range. The drone simply out ranges the Launcher.

If you time it correctly you can duck the rockets too.

Okay, you're both right.

It's not a bug, it's a feature :D

I was just baffled that the drone was not really far away but high in the air.

Your join date is 2004.

Drones have been flying high up into the game's ceiling since 2004. You are just noticing this?

Ever been to an OP fight with Kamikazee drones zipping out of the sky onto players before? It is a joyous sight to behold!

When thinking about it again I have to correct my first conclusion here.

In my opinion it is still a bug that the Launcher Cyclops can't hit the drone.

The reason for this is that the Launcher Cyclops can't aim upwards properly.

There is only a certain angle that the Launcher Cyclops can use to shoot its "missiles" and if the drone is above that angle it cannot be hit anymore.

Range is only a factor if real long range weapons are being used like rifles and some of the cannons. But not for the drone. It is pretty close to the Launcher in fact but it's simply flying over the Launcher's "head" so that it can't be hit. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Furthermore the drone is not flying "into the game's ceiling" like somebody wrote here but it rather can't be hit because of the limited implementation of this certain mob and its shooting angle.

In my opinion the Launcher Cyclops must be able to hit the drone even if it's flying above its head.

he wasnt saying "into" the ceiling, he just meant resting against it, etc.
The range is still quite high, high enough that you can lose the launcher in a fog haze / range clipping.
I dont think its an exploit.

My point is using range in Neocron is not an exploit.
