View Full Version : Pushing AFK Runners into non safe zones?
I thought this was against the rules. Last I heard Hoder made a huge deal about it as did another higher up GM.
Splacher pushed me into Plaza 2 and killed me, repeatedly. I lost everything on my char.

He also safe zone exploited and got me killed by copbots.
I want to know what KK plans to do about this? Because I remember one time I was around when this happened to somebody else, and I got an ear full from a GM about it.
The game is dead enough as it is; it doesn't need tossers pulling shit like this.
Ban him.
As per our support policies (http://ng.neocron.com/index.php?id=83) you are correct in this being against the rules. However posting this kind of thing on the forums isn't the place for it, nor will it get you the help you need.
Although we are few in numbers we do still have a support structure in place so, please contact abuse@neocron.com with all the evidence you have related to this incident. Danae will then be able to assist you as much as she is able.
In order to prevent this kind of incident occurring, we have always advised that players do not go AFK for extended periods of time, or that players use chairs to anchor the character in one spot until the player returns.

This is why if I go AFK, I do so on a bench, and always have done.
Yes it sucks, but I'll have to admit I don't have much sympathy for such a simple mistake. People have been pulling this and other 'lame' tricks for years and should be something you look out for.

I was sitting down until he killed me with the copbot and got me rezzed again.
Sitting down doesn't help.
At 02:03 he killed me with the copbot, they pushed me into P2 and killed me 25 minutes later over and over.

Its easy, you just hide behind somebody with bad SL and the copbot blasts them to pieces. After copbots went to projectile shots from their old beam shots, it opened up a whole new world of exploiting the copbots. They need to go back to their beam weapons.
What I think happened was they hid a scout drone behind me, because thats the only thing that could slip in behind me while I sit.

Sounds possible. Been a while since I flew a drone, but the fun of flying one in Plaza 1 was to annoy the copbots who like target practice.
As for KK doing anything? Well I refer you to a piece of string and a tape measure...

Definitely illegal, and fucking lame. Since returning the people i've met have been really good with new runners, and the PVP ends in everyone getting rezzed.

I cant believe this has never happened to you before, never AFK in NEOCRON THERE ARE NO SAFE ZONES especially with, badass sandwiches and unlimited ammo observer drones... I learned the hard way myself

Hahaha its okay, I got it all sorted out. I'm not even mad, I just said screw it and rebuilt all my spells. I finally got to build them the way I wanted. Plus, I guess the person was taken care of, so oh well.

Obviously dont want to discuss exploits but how do you get killed while sitting down and then pushed about? Were you revived and then pushed out of the zone or something?
I dont know how long ago it was that the rez killing thread was up on these boards but I think it was before the rez time was changed to 30 seconds (7 second rez's were amazing way back) but I do remember people asking for a consent button on the rez.
Is this something that could be implemented easily? :confused:
It would certainly solve MrTrip's problem or at least stop it happening to others.

I remember back when Tech Haven was a safe zone people would spend hours pushing afk runners over the ledge where they would fall to their death. They called it a sacrifice to the tech gods or something, I thought it was pretty funny lol

Best one was a runner who someone occidentally traded with, and somehow broke his macro. Was amusing watching him move his arms in the same way every 5 seconds, while he was pushed to the hole.... :D

A red SL guy was hiding in CA HQ once, so a friend logged his anti-city spy, stealthed in, pulled the copbots and guards into the room and teleported out, leaving this guy to get nailed.
He then proceeded to GR in repeatedly typing swear words while being ganked by the guards. Must have lost everything in his belts, considering even his Marine and Herc dropped. Probably the meanest thing I've witnessed.

I realise how he died but I thought that you had to manually press a button to release yourself, is the rez automatic then? Its been a while since i played and I dont remember.
Anyhow I think my point about having a button to "accept" a rez is worthwhile all the same.

Pride fucked with him i guess. He shoulda listened to Marcellus Wallace.
If someone is dumb enough to do something twice that got them killed the first time then more fool them. I have lost count of the amount of times I have seen people die due to some problem in the game and then go and repeat the mistake and die again.
I once died (while drunk as a lord) in game and lost a really valuable spell on my ppu and lots of people tried to help me get it back. Being drunk however I had forgotten which zone i was in or wheere in the zone I was but still (it might have been Zii) an individual went out of his way to try to help me but i was too drunk to worry about it so i logged off and replaced it the next day.
I hate coming to these forums because you lot make me want to come and play again.....
The Rez is still automatic

Apartment log outs in one of the back rooms is the way forward then I think. Or any apartment off the beaten track and therefore not likely to have people warping into it hopefully.
Don't afk in your starter appy where the password is your name, there are ways that people can get through your door and rez kill you.

I agree with Biglines here, much like when people had to post in the Black Prophecy forums simply to get them to acknowledge any concerns regarding NC. By the way, how long has it been now since Kirk promised some answers? :p

Shhh... :p I'm sure this was down to an e-mail to abuse@neocron.com and the presence of an in-game ticket. *cough* Regarding the other forum related post, unfortunately as support staff this is something we've no control over but we are here to support you with the means we have available.
