Is there any developer tracker thing here like www.darthhater.com/devtracker ?
If not maybe we should make one if um... whoever owns Neocron now I don't even know, won't :) It probably says a lot about the game that there is so many community posts to wade through even now that it's hard to find Official News :)

So like... reply with names of Developers and GMs you know and then can find the usernames and link the "find posts" things in the thread :)

She seems a lovely, positive person :) Why not a community manager??!?!


I am pretty sure you all know by now Reakktor has never been a huge company. I would love to be able to speak on behalf of the company and give you an update on the state of affairs, but I have no new information and I'm not the "community manager". When I am online I am responding to email tickets; that is my responsibility.

I just want to say something, not as me, but as an adult, with bills and kids. In life you need money. Everything you want and need requires it. This is an ugly truth about this industry as well. Not to be a dirty capitalist here, but game development costs money, no one works for free, no ones time is free. There needs to be revenue period.

Now back to being me - I have never seen a community so dedicated and passionate and interested in all aspects of a game like I see with Neocron folks. Do not think you are ignored, even if someone doesn't take the time to respond directly to you, people do read the forum and they do value you. Not only for your opinions but your evident love for Neocron in spite of your frustration. You need to realise that the lack of interaction may not come from a place of neglect but a place of frustration on the other end as well - wanting desperately to do the things that would please you, but not having the ability at this juncture because there are other things on the front hob.

Do not stop emailing us, do not stop giving us suggestions, do not stop pointing us to flaws and faults. Do always be passionate and vigilant and know that someone is watching, reading, and being enlightened by your words.

I can't promise you anything, I can't give you anything other than support, but I just wanted to respond because I feel you deserved something from someone, even if it's just me ^^

The next Neocron will be Neocron 3
I just want to try and temper everyone's expectations somewhat. Is there a strong desire to develop NC3? Definitely - the teaser image that Kirk released wasn't just knocked up in five minutes for the purposes of that thread. NC3 is a very real project but at a very young stage in its lifecycle.

So the problem is timing. Black Prophecy is commanding everyone's attention right now and it will have to prove itself financially before NC3 gets off the ground in a concrete way. It's going to be a long road, but it's a road we're determined to travel.

I was not really interested in Black Prophecy because I like more people-based games than cars/spaceships but I say support it because of that ^ :) :

As I said, Danae is the only one who is actually responding to community and doing things. She's got my respect for that, especially as she most likely will receive the same ignorance that the community does.

As for Black Prophecy, I played that game and it was fun at first. Then soon the motivation went down to zero. Frankly speaking, it's all the same again and again just flying around shooting up things. PVP has not realy a greater meaning and reminds a lot to Fallen Earth in terms of missing goals. Crafting and item competition is the way for Gamigo to make money via item shop. Techincally the game looks great with stunning graphics and good effects. However, the day to day live is simply boring as hell.

As for Neocron developement - if you follow the thread, me and others expressed our respect for the KK peeps working on that in their free time. So far fair enough. Where things start to stink though, is when a certain person gives a promise to a loyal community and also on phone to a member of this community - just to break that promise and acting against his own words. You may call it german biasm to glorify that utterly liar in a funny signature, i have my own way to handle with him.

You made some efforts to put these links all together, sadly it won't have any effect or change the situation. People have done other things before to support this game... sadly all in vain. Good luck to you mate though :)

Mate, all I can say is, if one guy promises you one thing personally and doesn't keep it, it's neither the fault of capitalism, the bad world or scared publishers. It's simply that he's a sorryable miseralbe liar FACT.

If you think do nothing and ignoring is the best they can do, then why do you even bother putting these things together? Dig a little more deep, you'll see that Reakktor hasn't financially climaxed but rather evaded bankruptcy and sold the Black Prophecy rights to Gamigo plus an 19.9% share on KK.

Bale first learned about Chen through news reports, including our coverage in February, when he was in China filming "The Flowers of War," a wartime drama set in 1930s Nanjing in which he plays a mortician trying to save a group of schoolgirls from the clutches invading Japanese soldiers.

The injustice faced by the activist and his family stirred such strong emotions in Bale that, upon hearing his impending return to China to promote the movie, he decided to do something unusual to raise the international awareness of Chen and thereby to turn up the heat on the Chinese government.

"This doesn't come naturally to me, this is not what I actually enjoy -- it isn't about me," he explained during our eight-hour drive from Beijing to the eastern city of Linyi, where Chen's village is located. "But this was just a situation that said I can't look the other way."

Known to be a media-shy celebrity, Bale reached out to CNN and invited us to join him on his journey to visit Chen.

In the car, he lamented the American public's lack of knowledge on Chen's case, despite senior U.S. officials' increasingly vocal support for his freedom. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Gary Locke, the American ambassador to China, have both championed Chen's cause.

Bale appeared a little surprised to learn that Relativity Media, which produced his 2010 Oscar-winning "The Fighter" and recently filmed a comedy in Linyi, was accused by activists of cozying up to the same officials who ordered Chen's detention and torture. The studio has issued a statement denying the allegation.

Although China's state media has largely ignored the story, Chen's plight has spread online and outraged a growing number of Chinese "netizens." Many have tried to visit Chen, and activists say nearly all would-be visitors have been turned back, often violently, by plainclothes police and local thugs.

"I'm not brave doing this," Bale emphasized. "The local people who are standing up to the authorities, who are visiting Chen and his family and getting beaten or detained, I want to support them."

As our car sped toward Beijing in the dark, Bale wondered aloud if he would never be allowed back -- a prospect he is prepared to accept -- even as "The Flowers of War" became China's official entry into next year's Academy Awards.

"Really, what else can I do to help Chen?" he kept asking as the clock struck midnight, with his latest movie -- partially funded by the state -- about to open nationwide in China.

However we (the mods) are just here to keep the peace and can't provide anything beyond that, gotta thank Danae for doing that over the holidays on the English boards (Thank you :D). Personally, I've been away for a little while partially due to motivation and mainly with Christmas and such.

it's so strange how neocron is almost entirely voluntary now, maybe you should open up a more formal way to apply as volunteers so you get new blood in spread the load a bit and stop you burning out :)

be more positive, do you not think they want to make Neocron 3 if they could? :) the problem is publishers that are scared of making any games that deviate from the norm, it's not their fault, from all I have read it seems they are *genuinely* doing the best they can in the circumstances and global financial climate - and I have dug deep as you can see ^^^
