*** Community run events and story line ***
A few of us have been discussing this and feel the game and community would benefit greatly from a few fun thing happening we can all get involved in.
Maybe with some nice rewards for incentive :)
(Donations very welcome to this end)
If we can get any kind of GM support then great and very much appreciated, but presuming otherwise.
Firstly with respect if any of these events go ahead may I please ask if people can try to resist the urge to sabotage them. They will be run by gamers like you and I, for the benefit of you and I and if it all goes sh!te shape then we wont bother again.

We have come up with a few initial ideas and would like the community feedback no how interested they are in participating and in which events please.
1. “Capture the Theif”
It seems an unknown top level spy has infiltrated various factions and stolen various high tech and valuable items which obviously represent significant credit value and importance. The factions in question have turned to City Admin to recover these items.
Unfortunately with the current unrest in Neocron Lioon Reza declares that the already over stressed Copbots will not be able to assist with this operation and sub contracts the work out to runners to track down the thief and recover the stolen items.
Basic objective of this event which can be run over and over will be, following an Intel announcement to the last known location/sighting, to chase and capture the thief. The thief will be LE’d and ‘Capturing’ will take the form of opening a trade window so LE’d runners will also be able to take part.
The thief being basically a coward will bribe the runner who catches him with one of the stolen items in order to let him go.
The runner then being an honest person will return the item to City Admin. (Yeah right :) )
2. Auctions
I think no more explanation required there.
3. PVP Contests
There are various locations we can use as well as a few more inventive ones to make it more interesting and as well as the 1 on 1 we can always try other variations like 2 on 2, team battles, last man standing etc.. etc..
Open for more ideas a suggestions.
4. Races:
Again various possible locations, runners, drones, vehicles, teams and varying forms.
Things goind ahead and being successful more ideas can follow.
So what do you think ?

even when they were GM events we had dicks coming and PK'ng so
i see a bigger prob with this when there is no GM support..

Yeah, Reza got knocked off in his apartment, someone served some dodgy coffee IIRC. Jack Red is the man in change of CA these days.
Back OT: I like the capture the thief idea. :) Should work very well for LE'ed and non-LE'ed runners. I may have a few weapons I could donate.
ok so I'm not totally up-to-date with the history !! :p
With regards to some of the gank-able events I'd hope we could get enought support the provide security !?
But also would hope since this is us trying to help us that a little restraint would be applied. Here's hoping.
The more trustworth people we have on board the better as well.
I guess the other thing is what time(GMT +/-) and day would be most suitable to get maximum involvement?

We will need to have a count regarding how many would prefer event 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Since it seems we are not able to make a poll on the NC Forum u need to post and we need to keep track of how many post for an event manually.
Unless maybe somebody can tell us how to make a poll here. Both Rab and I have tried :(
And yes, I would also be able to donate some items.
Also, maybe we should make the same post/poll on the THN :angel:

don't really need to have a poll, just a general impression of which events would be popular.
I'd also like to propose to add the Hostage/Prisoner escort event rab thought of in the previous thread.
I personally favor all of them too and will gladly - obviously - lend whatever support I can to any and all events we can arrange together.
Keen to hear what everyone else thinks too tho.. Just a quick post very much appreaciated.

Well everything appreciated both in forms of donations and help :)
Mainly after opinions on the preferred events at the mo and who'd be interested in taking part/joining in to see if it's worth doing at all.
No point in setting up an event if there are only 3 or 4 of us taking part ! :(

As usual: Feel free to mail me, every idea is welcome. But I got nothing in the past. I mostly support Runner events if possible.

Right, that's a real bad issue.... I noticed very much in the past... but .... Let's getting started and I will do much more to announce it ?

I have some top hackers in Fallen Angels available for hire. They will crack the codes, and change the message for you.... So long as you don't mind it being changed to "Keep a free mind" :angel:

Had a bit of a bad week, daughter's been ill so not been overly motivated to pay this much attention...
I'm thinking we should have a go at something next weekend/friday.
What time/day (GMT) do we think would be best.

It has been suggested to ensure a suitable 'prize' is given to the winner, i.e. rare rifle for rifle spy HC for tank etc.. etc... so the more offered donation the better.

like I said in the mail, might be best to say it will be during the evening of one or two of those dates, and then check ingame populations on that day, and then announce on the forums that you are starting in like 30 minutes.
(say friday from 18:00 gmt to 22:00 gmt, and then see when the actual population wants it)

23rd December 2010: GMT 8pm-10pm - we'll refine that closer to the day.
Event: "Capture the Theif"
Background:
Professional infiltrator has stolen top secret corporate information. No further information required. CA unable to assist but have offered to reward safe return of stolen item with special prize. All agents currently attempting to locate information on known location of Theif. Contact person will make announcements to all willing to participate runners and clans when infomation becomes availible.
Rules:
1. Intel will be disclosed on HELP channel as to last known Theif sightings and assumed identity. This will mark start of event.
2. A grace period will exist where the theif may not even be capturable and only chase-able to allow maximum participation. This period will expire at our discression.
3. The Theif will be LE'd and in disguise of a regular runner.
4. To 'capture' the theif you simply have to open a trade window when possible with the theif when you have captured/cornered him/her - See point 2 above.
The Theif will then surrender the important information/token he/she has stolen in exchange for his/her release.
This info/token is to be returned to the specified official for your reward.
The runner who captures the Theif has to complete this transaction, his or her death is only to the theifs benefit.
5. The Theif will obviously not want to be apprehanded and do what he/she can to evade capture. If the Theif is killed during this pursute then it is very likely they will have a genrep from which they will respawn and be very vunerable for a short period of time. This however will NOT be used as a means of escape.
6. Further info regarding sightings may become availible. Cannot gurantee accuracy or validity of information however.
7. Any cheating will not be tollerated and will mean exclusion from any potential prizes.
8. It's a free for all. Obviously LE'd runners dont have to worry about anything other than mobs but others are free to exert their dominance.
9. The theif will NOT use any un-fair means of escape or protection like entering faction HQ's.
10. The officials decision is final on everything.
Hope this goes well. Bit of a test run really. Maybe we'll organise some more stuff next year. Got loads of ideas people willing :)

Future events - would def be appreciated - thankyou v much - hopefully we'll have lots in the new year. Have certainly had a lot of offers of support, so the interest seems to be there.
This event since it's a bit of a test run, I've chosen something simple that doesnt need any security, in fact i hope it will generate a bit of conflict ! :)
and if people enjoy this event there is no reason why it cant be repeated.
u can start a thread at the com announcement but a mod has to make it puplic...
Garfield/Bigs/Msressi, if all else fails lets meet p1 by the tree at 8pm Thurs eve to do anything we need to before event start.
