Sorry if this has been covered already, but with the lack of support for cron. Circustances allowing, fair enough, not having a go ! :)

But surely one of the players who has a lot of time on their hands with the right ideas and commitment could surely get some player events going couldn't they. Get some interest back into the game ??

Can someone like that not be given whatever account/rights/tools that are needed to do that and work with someone, even loosly to achieve this ??

I'd volunteer but I'm sure others would too ??

lots of people have volunteered, and afaik Chenoa has been in the process of organizing a big series of events for months now, but player supported events are very rare, garfield is the only one who occasionally sets up events, out of his own pocket or sometimes with help from gms

that said, what kind of event would you have in mind that would work in the current population? if you have a good idea I'm always willing to help out.

Well I got a lot of time on my hands and a lot of ideas ! :)

Anything is possible, like you rightly say, population dependant a lot of the time, from basic mass spawns, to an underlying story in line with official cron history with objectives, thigns to find, chase after, fight for etc..
The list there is endless but anything interesting has got to have some kind of GM power input, be that them or one or more of us ?

Got to know what the limitations are and what is possible given the current situation?

a long time ago i applied for event GM but they said that it was only possible to become a full GM, but they werent recruiting at the time (so they said). so you'll need a real GM like chenoa to help, but i think atm she is too buzy

So if any GM watching this, I'm happy to do it, can we make this happen ??

Oh and thanks for the offer of help BTW - may still be worth a manual effort if all else fails. But wont compare to what could be achieved with GM rights.

I would be happy to help as well.
I have tried to organize a GM/Player Auction on Mars as well as on Terra for a long time now, but nothing ever came of it.
I even cst'd rare high slotted weapons for this auction. Have 3 cabs full atm and can cst more.
I know of many runners who collect the items for the GM-coins to trade them in with Zippy, but now no Zippy can be found. Just yesterday I had to organize more cabs for a runner on Terra who is running out of room with those items.

Besides, WoC 3 PA's can not be obtained other then with an auction and afaik, hardly anybody has any stashed away anymore.

auctions are good but was thinking more along the lines of some kind of story to get people interested and something fun to do different from the norm.
Pref something that people of all skill and experience levels can participate in, maybe even geting people to work together.

Most of the ideas I have will be shite with out some kind of GM input, will need some mob spawns at least !!!!

all the events you can setup without GM help you can do, the problem is that they are not going to recruit more gms afaik, and the current batch of GMs is simply too busy with Black Prophecy to bother much with NC

Well at a high level am sure there is things we can still do n arrange that'll be a bit of fun, maybe with prizes to motivate, level categories?, sticky post to run with, notifiy in advance etc etc...:

Sure we can think of a few ideas / mini storys that'll involve people looking for something/someone, escorting something/large convoy from a to b with ambush, races - drones and on foot, clan/faction organised raids on areas/sectors while their management do something? :), i quite like the idea of a prisoner chase where the prisoner/terrorist (with LE in) has to stay with whatever uncontested force is escourting him/her and varying forces have varying destinations for the terrorist for varying reasons etc...

I like the prisoner chase thing, if only because it even takes into account the fact that people are going to show up and try to gank people ;)

maybe have the prisoner divulge clues as to a next location to which he will unpack rewards or things he's stored or something, these could be in apartments in canyon, mb, th and the city, or just boxes (although appartments owned by the le'd char will take care of randomly looting boxes)

too bad it doesn't really include le'd or low level chars.

part of the trip could maybe also include a ground vehicle escort run, where the escorting team has to drive a rhino or reveler through a number of areas (maybe the le'd is wounded or something)

@bigs: Yeah, that game does kinda exclude Le'd runners apart from the terrorist who has to be LE'd really.
Plenty of ideas - some are always going to favor LE/non LE - such is life I think !? :)
But then again there must be 10 different ways you could play that game !

I guess what we need to do is see how much community interest there is !!!!!!!!! :)
Then maybe knock our heads together, post a thread here on the forum to advertise it, all info needed etc.. and set something up and see how it goes ?
See if anyone got any gear to donate as rewards.. I got a few things I dont need anymore like a riggers, but had to start from scratch so not got much yet really.

I got a whole bunch of stuff I can donate, like trophies. And I think if we call out there's a whole bunch of people who would be willing to chip in. (I mean, in the last 4 events ive participated in, ive never kept the shit i found, lots of other people do the same)
