I seem to remember way back that Vegetation 'detail' could be adjusted so you didn't get all the long grass/shrubs/bushes etc... if you didn't want and would indeed help a lot with performance.

Now it seems you only have veg fog distance which only sets how much you can see for how far...

Is there a way to disable the veg detail if you dont want it still ??

thx

That setting went with the NC2.1 graphics update. The old vegetation detail use to wave in the wind, which was a real nice cool touch, but it really sucked the CPU/GPU power.

The new vegetation is static and doesn't wave in the wind, and shouldn't use the CPU/GPU resources so much.

It still seems to on certain systems >_<

Yeah, I seem to recall that with 2.1, the majority of people reported performance improvements, but a significant number said performance got worse, and they couldn't even turn the veg off any more.

Any "modern" computer should be able to cap your fps in NC.....

I think mine is 4-5 years old, and I have capped fps in all zones, exept at Devereaux..
