Trying to get back into NC2

So I left NC1 yeaaarrrss ago, but felt some nostalgia hit me. I also heard that NC2 is free to play now, but whenever I try to create an account I'm informed that I must pay €5 per month, then the following page tells me I will have to pay €9.99 per month.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

You need to log into an existing NC2 account for it to be free.
Sure I remember you making a comeback thread before though, so would guess you have one.

Ahhh, ok. I thought it was a case of just creating a new account. I do have an existing one (I used to have two o_O), so I'll search through my email and try and find the password. Thanks.
