neocron keeps crashing :(

everytime i click on a server to join my game crashes :( any idea's i can fix this without redownloading nc2 and reinstalling lol

Delete the (hidden?) file "models.tmp" in your neocron folder, delete the server folders in defs/ (don't touch the ordinary files in defs/)

And try again.

it cashing right after i pick a server. like when the chars come up to pick one. i get run time error

Other things that might help:

Do a filecheck
Reboot
Disable hardware acceleration for audio
Use a different driver (DX7 / DX9)

bet your on windows 7 or vista, check out the vista thread too

i had a similar problem a bit ago, although mine was doing it between the credits and login screen

not sure if its gonna help but what my problem ended up being was a corrupted patch or whatever, i did everything i could up until i just deleted all patches(since i just kept using the same ones for each new download and reinstall) i redownloaded patches installed and waaaalaaaaa it worked

oh another thing, when i first used nc on this pc with vista i always fatal runtime error like every 5 mins until i started not just double clicking the icon but right clicking and hitting run as administrator(not sure why this worked but it does at least on my pc)

well im been downloading nc2 at 5k. im on a 30mb/5mb connection so its not me lol anyone got a link to full client with good speeds?

Try launching with...


c:\path\to\neocron\client.exe -precache

That fixed the same crashing under Linux.

ok i was running nc under admin. then my game crash now its back to crashing right after i click to join the server. when char list is coming up it will crash. any idea?

a stupid thing to do backup your files and try to update windows+drivers(from manufacturers) clean all registry related to NC in regedit, then reinstall the game... if that doesn't work format windows partition, and retry reinstall...
