FPS Lag / Freezing problem.

I haven't played for awhile but I recently got a new comp. One thing i noticed is that sometimes I will be running around and i will freeze up for a few seconds, then come back. Like a FPS lag spike i guess. My old computer didn't do this and I'm not sure why this happens. I'm using a wide screen now but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Old comp was single core and now i got Quad core.

this only happens when im Double boxing, but still - old comp didnt have a problem.

AMD 64
geforce 7600gt
1g or 2g of shit ram
old ass MB (ASrock?)


New~
AMD phenom X4 9950
geforce bfg 9800gtx
4g of gskill ram
Asus MB

try directX 9 instead of 10

As its an AMD multicore, try the AMD Optimizer, it often helps.
