Is this expected downtime, or something else?

valid and my browser wont lemme in without a override. Anyone know if this is a bug, should I ignore the security warning? Also.. IS Neocron currently free to play? How does someone with US currency pay for this game if its in Euros? And PS.... *Scratches head* There is no downtime planned, and I can't see anything wrong, Zii what Browser are you using?

Edit: Ahh found something odd, why the NC forums RSS feed is leaking I don't know. I've turned the ticker off for now, and will have a good poke later.

Ok found it, slight multithreading issue with temporary files. Problem should be fully fixed now. Thanks for spotting the issue.

If flib is confused with that, I'm confused with his last post!

I've used it. I can't stand it. I find the whole thing to be a ridiculous, overly complicated mess of useless features.

For the opposite reasons.

Easy to use
Easy to format the pages
Easy password remembering system
Love the Speed Dial
Sadly, less plugins unlike Mozilla.

When I first used it I disliked it. I thought it was cumbersome and complicated. Three months later I decided to try it again & really used it for a while and then changed my mind.

Opera is as free, but modification is probably frowned upon. You have the freedom to use it for browsing Email and torrents.

Why have you less sympathy for it because it is not FSF? (At least I think not)

Opera is free, what it isn't is open source, meaning you can't (or rather, shouldn't) modify it.

Opera also doesn't use standard keyboard shortcuts, for example, f5 reloads in IE adn FF, and Ctrl f5 reloads and empties cache. opera you have to press ctrl and r to reload from cache. and it's 50-50 as to whether it will actually empty the cahce in the first place.

we had no end of troubles getting it to work properly when we tested our work website, it would save all the wrong information and the secure shopping server wouldn't accept the customer order because the data didn't match.

Who said anything about evil?
I'm not saying that non-free software is evil; I'm saying that if something is frustrating, I'm much less likely to give it some slack if it's non-free.

I'm sorry, i took you to be one of those infuriating people that think that everything that is not open source or creative commons is evil, I am very open to those initatives and plan to start publishing my own work under cc, but much prefer windows over linux, and photoshop over the gimp ;)

Don't get me wrong I'm a supporter of Open source. Without it, the THN probably wouldn't exist for a start.

However when it comes to choosing the right software for the job, whether it's open source or not, makes no difference to me.

I've been happily mixing open and closed source for ages, and they both work together, and will do for a long time.

I tried using Ubuntu for the first time over the weekend. Somehow the desktop is way too huge for my screen (as in I can't see the menu bars). Of course I have no idea how to fix this because I'm a Linux n00b. I guess I'll have to blame it on the Borg.

Also, the Gimp is an image manipulation tool, therefore, shouldn't be compared to Photoshop, since Photoshop has a much wider scope of usefulness.

I actually think I know what the problem is. After asking around it seems there is a compatability issue between ubuntu and my radeon card, i've got to install the open source drivers I think. If that doesn't work I'll just whack linux and stick with windows. FOREVER!
