i am trying to install nc on my wife's laptop i took the install from my comp and used a jump drive to install it on her comp it installed and i cant get past the launch screen any help plz

Do you get the login screen at all?

Resolution set too high for the monitor so it cannot display it?

Tried windowed mode?

DX7 or DX9 selected? Is DX9 newest version installed?

If all fails, maybe you should just download and install it again :D

do you have steam on your laptop?

for some reason steam and nc dont like to work together on my comps. prob not right solution but worth a check.

what OS (xp/vista) is on the laptop?

Software firewalls are a pretty common cause of this one too.

ok checked resolution didnt change anything , same with windowed mode , running windows xp on the comp , dont have steam on it , been checking the firewall idea but i get to where you click the launch and then it flashes black screen and nothing then just my desktop . any more ideas to try lol

Download installer and make a fresh installation :cool:

do the "file check" thingy
get another gfx driver

does the laptop even have a gfx card? (as in, not some onboard crap but a nvidia or ati card?)
