press control+shift+escape, then look for the exe of the 2009crap thingy (in the tab processes), click end process and now you should be able to delete the folder.

still, it will probably be somewhere to infect you again, so keep looking for trusted sites (like norton, mcafee and symantec) that might get the removal tools... also microsoft update sometimes comes with malicious software removal tools...

but im a fucking computer geek with a track record of 1 virus in about 13 years and now i've been infected with that same antivir2009 or antispyware 2009 on both my laptop and pc :S so don't feel to bad about getting it , its a nasty piece of work....

There are some pretty thorough manual removal instructions to be found here (http://www.spywareremove.com/removeAntivirus2009.html).
Last but not least; invest in a good AV like NoD32 (http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php) & it should stop crap like that AV2009 getting on to your PC in the first place.

Good luck.

I removed this off of my grandmother's machine recently.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php) removes it without a trace, and is free to download and use.

Also a good free antivirus I have started to use is called Avira, I managed to get rid of the AV 2009 virus from my stepdads computer the other day with Avira and Malwarebytes.

If none of the above works, try downloading process explorer from Microsoft's website, it was developed by sysinternals. Then search for the executable and close all handles related to it, then remove it!

Otherwise just boot your Windows into safe-mode and uninstall it, voila :P

Glad im not the only one who's stumbled across it tho, no more trying to watch movies for free for me, will just have to be patient & wait till DVD
