It's exactly the same, just the decimal points. And most of the implants have been reworked to provide different bonuses. There are also two of most MC5 chips now, to cope with the HC and MC differences, or PC and RC. they are now seperate chips.

Decimals are totaled and rounded down.

For example. 4.80 + 5.23 + 2.89 = 12.92, which would be a +12 bonus to a stat.

However, this rounding is absolute and thus negative totals are also rounded 'down'. So - 24.67 would be - 25.

the TL-Balancing is the reason for this i think.

Indeed, for all implants/armour, though this mainly affects imps that have lvl 1, 2 and 3 versions, the values are based on their TL working on a base stat value.

The decimals serve mostly to complicate things. Though it is somewhat exciting when you're 3 strength away from using a new gun and you're not sure if popping a Thyronol (+2.82 str) will get you the full +3 you need.

>> Though it is somewhat exciting

You are using the definition of excitement rather perversly.
