1. Connection issues
In course of the migration of the Neocron 2 server hardware, the IP addresses of the servers, as well of the backend applications for the account management have changed. The necessary update of the DNS entries is still in progress which can cause the current connection issues.

DNS means “Domain Name Service” and is responsible for translating domain names into IP addresses like the phone book showing the phone number for the provided name. The purpose of the DNS system is that people can remember names much easier then confusing columns of numbers.

In the case of Neocron, the Neocron launcher connects to the domain “launcher.neocron.com”. All data, necessary for the connection to the game servers, is located on this domain. The DNS resolves this name into an IP address and the launcher can connect to the domain.

As the IP addresses have changed during the server migration, the DNS entries had to be adjusted as well. Because of the architecture of the DNS system these changes are not taking effect on all worldwide DNS servers immediately and it may take up to four days to complete this update. This means that some DNS servers are still using the old IP addresses as the update has not reached them yet.

Until the update of the DNS entries has been completed you can bypass this problem by proceeding as follows:
Open the Windows Explorer by pushing the keys “Windows” and “E”
Search for the file Hosts under x:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and open it with a text editor. X: is the drive of your Windows installation. (In most cases it is C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\)
Enter „83.236.174.250 launcher.neocron.com“ (without quotation marks) in a new row and safe the file.Additionally the DNS cache can be emptied to be on the safe side. For this please proceed as follows:
Push the Start button and select “Run” in the Windows menu
Enter cmd and hit OK
A command window should then open
In the command window enter ipconfig /flushdns and confirm with hitting “Enter”The cache is successfully cleared when the message “Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache”

2. Changes to the subscription fees
The subscription fee changes have been communicated to our payment providers several weeks ago. Despite this, the requested adjustments have not been implemented properly yet. We are currently in direct contact with the payment providers to solve these issues as quickly as possible.

Further information regarding this can be learned in this forums thread (http://forum.neocron.com/showthread.php?t=142552).

You also want to make sure that any program you have that blocks IP's, be it firewall or a program such as Peer Guardian, is letting the new addy through.

I believe they're using the American way of doing it, putting the month first then the date, as in 10th of July
