Just wondering is there any news on a new patch or anything at all ?????
i heared from a friend that a new patch willl come in May
KK made a Coop with Blizzard
This patch makes it possible to jump on a random WOW server to pwn teh noobs with our superior Firepower (Plasma Vs Sword)
WoW player have then something new to do. Would love to see how WoW player react on rezzkilling and noobkilling (they have no LE Muhahaha)

Haven't heard anything on the subject. As much as I want there to be further updates I have a feeling that with the release of BP supposedly looming on the horizon we may never see another patch to NC. PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME IM WRONG!!! :(
Since when have they ever said "Yes, a patch is coming soon" in response to these threads? If it's not in the announcements section or on the launcher page then it's not happening right now.

Niddy will tell us as soon as he is told something, if he's allowed to say it that is.
Which means it will appear in a big sticky at the top of this board.
And since there are none, then there aren't any news. Because nothing is official, untill it's a reality.
Never sure about how much Snow gets to hear, but I'm convinved that if he had been involved in any updates / patches, he would to tell us, but again, I doubt we would hear until it's almost ready for deployment, because once again, if it's not a reality, or it couldn't be done anyways...
... then if they had told us about it when they started on it, they would be met with "you lied to us", "where is this", "where is that", "now fish are overpowered", "you cant play a cow anymore", "this is all wrong" and all sorts of crap.
So if I was running the show, based on the last couple years reactions to patches, I wouldn't release any information about a patch, or possible patch unless I was absolutely certain that it could be done, that it should be done, and that it would be done.
And even then, I wouldn't say anything about until I knew when it will be done, so I could tell when it is to be implemented.

From what Carnage has been saying in January/February, he seems to have been working on another patch, post the F6 Patch of December.
I have absolutely no idea why the fixes reported here, and acknowledged here haven't been fixed yet, but it sounds as if they were looked at.

Whilst I firmly expect that to happen at some point in the next 18-24 months, I don't think they'd try and sell that as exciting news to us.
maybe they listend to my idea and Implement neocron in BP.

I reckon it is the realisation of some of the suggestions in the Brainport thread.
The only way that Reakktor could get me excited about Neocron is if they told us that they're going to be porting Neocron to a proper and stable engine. Hell, they would just have to say that they're porting Neocron to a different engine, kind of hard to find a worse one, tbh. =/
I'm still interested though; if the news is interesting enough, I might reactivate once to check it out, I don't know.

I am not going to deliberate what constitutes "Exciting" or not but i for one appreciate that Snow has thrown us a bone.
We have had no concrete news of updates etc. in over 4 months! I for one am glad to hear there will be news soon.

Sadly, the subscription price is going up, but the good news is, the KK staff are getting a rise. :p
Wicked the only good news would be population growth.. SO WOOOOOOT IF ITS GOOD NEWS THEN ITS POPULATION GROWTH! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
If they're worried about preserving the idea of the Wisdom of Ceres, then they could always make up some story about how (for example) the new WoC Heal Module is based off of experimental, pre-apocalyptic technology recovered from data on a Ceres Disc designed to heal people with their minds, or something.

I think woc needs some tweaking, the pa has a bad malus with the athletics, all the work that goes into getting woc then the disc then the money for the pa etc is really a pain in the ass for a shitty pa, it should have no malus, Melee is shit and should get a really nice woc weapon to make up for how shitty it is, apus and ppus need some woc weapons that are really nice, like a hab woc spell for an apu and perhaps an anti drugflash or stealth spell for ppu for woc, and lastly.. tanks need something that isnt an aoe cannon that doesnt require that you aim at the ceiling to hit something in front of you, pes and spies are getting all the new things with rifle and pistols etc, give the other classes a chance =/
I already suggested the WoC Holy Invisibility, everyone hated the idea.
I just got an idea for WoC weapons for Gentanks: How about some weapons that were originally designed to be mounted on top of actual tanks, that can just be mounted on a Gentank's shoulder? (or possibly a PE) Like a cool laser cannon, plasma cannon, or possibly even something original! (NOT A ROCKET LAUNCHER)

Hmmm maybe theres a connection here, maybe we spend too much great gaming time writing about the low population and the lack of patches. :lol:
If we could somehow turn all the energi we spend on writing in here, into playing some NC, the population problem wouldnt be solved ofcourse, but yet it would be better. :D
I guess most of us remember what it was like when you were a lil kid, day before christmas and you were so excited and everything, couldnt even sleep and for those of us who celebrate cristmas in the evening of the 24th, we were typically bored all day and it seemed as an eternity before it finally were xmas eve and you were to get your presents.
Then it turned out, that all it took was the ability to find something to do all day, something that would keep your mind busy and all of a sudden, time ceased to exist and next your mom called you as it was "already" dinner time, and now it felt like the day had just passed in a flash.
If we play more and discuss less (well im excused as i cant discuss "less" :lol: ) then all of a sudden, a patch will come, like in the good old days, where you were totally busy in NC and suddenly the red "partycrasher"-text came along saying "The server will shut down in 10 minutes"... :-P

I want WOC Drones TBH.
If every other weapon specialisation gets WOC weapons why not droners? Its annoying enough that we dont have our own armour to begin with.

Consider releasing "LE zones" is necessary to correctly run an event, because yes, events turned to be bad just because of the lack of outposts fights which creates a lack of flame, so it has to go elsewhere xD

That's right, I still believe PvE has to know changes, really. and PvP has, but it's not about weapons, but its system.

Besides from that, how about making it possible to lvl as a tradeskiller?
As it is now, its not attractive to start out as anything but a fighter, if u want to build a tradeskiller, first u build a fighter and when capped, u lom him into a tradeskiller.
Its like starting a PPU, as far as ive heard in help chn the fastest way is to make droner or apu (well prolly before apu was claimed to be nerfed up), and then when capped, lom into ppu.
When I considered NC just before v2, i read a review where it said, that you could start out as whatever u wanted to be, whether it was a fighter or a supporter/tradeskiller, however the fact is that u cant, at least not start out as tradeskiller.
Well u can do some missions ofcourse as a cst/res/rec, but very soon u lvl VERY slowly and the money aint even too good.
The amount of XP u gain from doing cst/res/rec are very sparse, its not like you're gonna lvl up doin that.
All in all its like whatever u wanna be, the only way to get there is starting out as a fighter. :(
I can imagine a lot ppl who make their first chr and start out as anything but a fighter, soon gets bored and therefore quit NC.
Also a tradeskiller at relatively low-ish lvl isnt quite the one who get any jobs from other players, its always like someone asking in trade or help for a cst'er then maybe 2 or 3 shows up and regardless of what the job is, the customer always choose the cst'er with the best skill, cause after all, it means the job is done faster, hardly no matter what tl the job is.
Ofcourse theres another possibility for lvling a tradeskiller, and thats if youre loaded, u buy a ton of tl150 res missions and deliver them, but still it only gets u some of the way...
The solution, well it could for starters be raising the xp gained from cst/res/rec/rep/sal...
If we raise the xp gained from missions, ppl will still just hire a capped tradeskiller to do res missions for them.

Noone is saying we need any kind of uber pwnage weapon, im just getting a little tired of every new WOC weapon being a rifle or pistol when not a single melee PSI or Drone WOC weapon has been made.
People keep saying they want something to increase the Pops but i have yet to see anyone make an actual suggestion as to what this something should be. Probably because there isnt really anything that can be done to bring them up short of merging all the servers.
Unfortunately, it has been said that even if they wanted to, they couldn't merge the servers due to technical limitations. =(

Agreed, it's not evenly spread in weapons but a melee WOC weapon is no good to a class which is PVP unbalanced tbh. I am just pointing out WOC will keep guys happy for an evening or two whilst they run the missions to get the weapons, test them, either use 'em or throw them in a cabinet.

There are a raft of suggestions in the brainport thread that would make the game more challenging and probably draw back pops.

The development focus is currentlyfully set on Black Prophecy as we have to meet some very important milestones. The success of Black Prophecy is vital for Reakktor and thus for the continuance of Neocron. With no resoources or development at the current time, It's almost a given there will be no exciting news in relation to any exciting PATCH.
Furthermore it is not out of question that Neocron will again receive development resources in the near future, as we think that it still has lots of potential. Until then we will enforce our efforts to bring more players into the game with more advertisement and some special price offers.

Any effort to get more players in game is always welcome but without the slightest focus on enhancing the new player experience and retaining them once in game, i fear these efforts will come to no reward.

I am currently trying to source another ISP but it's proving a pain in the assS tbh, could do with moving somewhere near civilisation instead of out here in the sticks!

I assumed it was. We've pretty much been told there won't be a patch because all the resources are on BP so a new style event is about the best we could hope for really. That or news that BP is in fact NC3, but lets not hold our breath with that one. :p

They do a FREE 2Mb line with 2Gb download limit (loosly - not enforced), free wireless gear etc.. various in between packages and their top package is only £10 for a 8Mb-10Mb? line with no limit.
Had mine for ages now and never had a problem.

They operate that shit out in the middle of nowhere Rural Ireland? May look into it but my options are fairly limited as the phone line i have will NEVER be able to support Broadband. It's a split line :(
So i am left with Wireless or sattelite as the way to go. Satelite Pings must be dam awful so maybe wireless?
HSPDA 3 Modem is what i currently use but it's shite now as more people have signed up increasing the demand on an already stretched system. Vodafone do a similiar thing even there in England.

I plan on reactivating as soon as they migrate the servers. I still have a field exercise to do next week, then taking the family on a vacation (holiday). :)

I think it's safe to say this game is as is. Which is okay, but I wish the community could put something into it (as far as development goes).
Yeah i know they have lowered the price and everything so that will get some people back but what happens when they all have woc again and then they will start to leave again because nothing is beening added to the game yeah we can have some fun with op fights and what not but how long will it last without any new guns/items ??????
You could even add what Neallys saying here Neallys Idea (http://forum.neocron.com/showthread.php?t=142499) that will bring some people back that cant be arsed to go afk in the apt i know i have a few chars that i cant do anything with due to they faction symps

A lowered price will bring back more people, but with out updates they will soon leave again. It's another KK tactic of doing something big to boost the pops for a bit and then don't do it for a further 6 months.

Will have the same effect as the the free time over christmas or whenever it was, pop will raise to 10-15% then back down to 5% when they notice nothings changed...
cheaper shit is still shit, i'd rather pay the extra price for something that the ppl running it actually care about.
I can live with it blowing up, fatals and all that, many ppl have for years now, but atleast back when fatals were more frequent there were patches ever few weeks (not just hot fixes, new content, weapons etc) there were events... i didn't really care for the RP side of it but it was something different.
Now we get some random auction things which are terrible and some pve event that was well tested...
Lets see GR'ing to MB to fight of wave after wave of spider bots inbetween P2 fighting or killing chosen in a motu arena (*FUN*) , or running around all day collection wood from boxes just to be beaten by the guy who had more free time....

Pops will decrease. Will there be a spawn event? A shit auction? Will there be a patch? Maybe a neocronicle article that no one will read, written about an event everyone missed?
This is all we have in the way of content. Is it any suprise people come for the fights and then leave out of boredom.
