I had the same issue in the mall...

Relog a few times-and make sure not to hit the resume option (otherwise you'll just keep synching)

Usually i shut down the client and dont start it up until at least 3 mins later, to make sure im fully logged off the server.

Then sometimes it doesnt do the trick, when that happens i log another chr on and off, then I dont have any problems from there.

Very rarely it happens i keep getting stuck in sync over a period of more than 10 mins, but it hardly ever happens to me...

Yeah, I get this issue all the time at my Dad's house, regardless of where my character is logged out.
I think it's a memory issue, because it seems to help when I have everything else closed, but even then it still takes a while.
