They may have killed the hamster again. See if anyone else has had the problem.

Then it has to be something on your end, im guessing. Maybe something about your ISP not liking NC or something. Are you sure all of the ports NC uses are open on your firewall and all that kind of crap?

Do you have wireless internet?

I have it at the basement I live in, thank god I'm out of that shit hole on friday.

But due to instability in the wireless part of it, I get kicked to login quite often.

This sounds quite much like packet-loss. Either your ISP has connection issues or your wireless lan, if you use one, has time-outs.

If you do not use a wireless lan you can check your ISPs connection by doing traceroute to the master login server at 62.140.29.50. Watch out for any packet-losses or time outs.

Is there any other tool in unix or window$ that can show us possible packet loss in a specified period of time Snow? Unfortunatelly whenever I do a traceroute it neve tells me of time outs, yet i am experiencing problematic logins. So which ither tool does it exists that can analyze your connection up to the server?

Packet-loss can be viewed with the ping command. After the ping has been finished you see the amount of packets sent and and the amount of packets lost.

Under Win2k/WinXP use the command : Pathping <target>

It will ping the target and do a traceroute to it, providing you with a diagram where you can determine ping times and package losses, as well where the hang-up roots.

Hope this helps.

citycoms are a mess. often I can't even get any info from them.

very true, i find using it causes me to fatal an inordinate amount of times, not to be just coincidence. Makes SL missions for Symph a royal pain in the ****

I have the same with Citycoms when im running research missions, i might run 20 missions with no problem and then suddenly everytime almost i access a city com does it log out back to the log in screen. However a friend of mine from the states who probably does more cst ress and recycle missions than most of the nc players all put together never has an issue with this problem.

I would love to know what causes it.

ok I tried your command, and got the same result as if I was using a ping and traceroute at the same time. So nothing new there.

I did some serch tho in google, and found a tool, www.visualroute.com.
Rather expensive but intersting...
I will try it for a while and report back with data
