SO, I heard that NC was free for a month.
Apart from my characters are all brokened.
My rifle spy has very little +dex, im assuming the +dex was removed from the chips i left in him 3 years ago. and alot of my weapons are missing, or are in an apartment i cant remember. Like my silent hunter.
Whats a decent, non-mc5 chip set up? i still have an rifle SF *i dont know its new name)

do i just DL the trial to access my free month or what?
any account will do... trial client is the same as the real thing. When creating a new trial acc, just keep in mind to cancle it within the first week to avoid the hefty license fee :)
could I install NC using my NC1 discs then just DL all the patches?

I don't think it would be faster.. a LOT of stuff has been added and changed, I bet all the patches from NC1 to NC 2.2 are near a gig, assuming you can even get the early ones anymore.
You should be able to access your old account, don't expect all the stuff you had before to be there anymore though (if you played NC2 then you won't have a problem)

yea I played NC2 so my shit was transferred over from NC1
Pluto was great. From the NIA (in beta.. they all blitzed at retail :rolleyes: ) to Blue-Tech to Maas-Neotek then back to BT for a month then I went solo. I bet any clan involved in clan politics could use me... CSM = Cold Steel Mercs? Wasn't ever with them, that was FMN's clan afair.

What needs to be done when the launcher tells you this...

patching failed
It said all that after I DLed the patches
I forget.. what it was is you had to delete certain patch(es) and then let it dl them automatically.. patch 143? :confused:
Also check and see if it isn't write protected.. :p

Found it.. ftp://ftp.neocron.com/retailpatches/NeocronLauncher.exe just replace your current launcher with that one in the NC directory.
Not sure if that will fix your problem but it's worth a try. The worst that could happen would be you download a zillion broken files. :o
Did it patch some and then stop or not patch at all?
tbh you're better off downloading the 2.2 client...
if i use that launcher, there is no IP in it.
what's the IP for the NC server on the launcher?

No you can't.
The client wouldn't know whether he needs to patch #168 of NC1 or #168 of NC2 (both exist, and the patchlevel is only that number)
Also there is no patchrule from #200 of nc1 to #first of nc2
My advise:
Download the NC2.2-Client and patch that one.
This will get you the installation with as less single files (added from patching) as possible and thus the more stable installation of all choices. (CD, NC2-retail, NC2.2)

I've thought about doing the same thing. But I'm lazy. There's already been a ton of things that I've noticed but probably forgotten now. Make it a good list man.

lol i did. I just popped in the new Pirates of the Carribean and it went by fast :)
