Error in patching

Hey guys, I'm an old Neocron player and seeing as its free, decided to come back.. as you do.

However ive encountered a problem. After downloading the patches it automatically attempts to patch to the appropriate level. Whilst patching to level 159 it comes up with the following

"ERROR: couldn't open: client.exe, possible write protected, patching failed"

I've checked to see if its write protected.. which it isnt... and now I'm stumped.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Any chance your on vista?

And if i where you, id go into configuration on the launcher and check the file integrity. Dunno other than that though.

I am on Vista, as of today in fact... and based on the multitude of threads ive seen, Vista doesnt seem to like NC. I'm reinstalling now to see if that solves any issues as the integrity check unveild a load of corrupt files.
