[OT] Massive Wuddaheck?

Well, this is a massive what the phuck on my end. I have relatively shat internet atm (Upgrading to a much better stuff in a day or two) and i usually get around 370 KB/s downloading.


Im redownloading NC onto my new computer, and before i was getting my average download speed and everything was good, whatever. I stopped the download to play STALKER for a few minutes, and i just resumed it...



2455 KB/s download speed. Wait....What?


What did i do? O.o

yeah but as far as i know stalker has no links to my interwebs O.o in other words, affects it none.

(Even though im paying for 2 megs Download and i usually only get 375. thats why im updating.)

Happened to me also a few times.
Try it with some other DLs. I got that mostly with stopping the download for a while, then restarting it. I will then get some INSANE high DL-rates, but only for 45 seconds, then it will get slowly back to normal.
But i really have no clue besides my stoopid theory that, while pausing, the usual DL-rate is "stored" somewhere and when you continue..it sort of...all rushes through your pipe like mad. O_o

thats because windows is downloading that file before u even klicked on the download button.

-.- thats almost as bad as some total noobs telling me i couldnt say Shit ingame. Last time i checked, NC was a mature title.

anyways, someone said a little ways up something about the computer still downloading the thing even though i had stopped it, which would really piss me off to tell you the truth. It makes me feel like my computer is plotting a conspiracy against me, because it could be doing ANYTHING regardless of what ive told it to do.

also, i do have a relatively shat modem, some 10 year old Linksys thing :lol:
