Screw the notebook (they're called notebooks now to avoid the lawsuits that come from putting it on your lap and burning your naughty bits).

Get this (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=41472), a big backpack, and an LCD that you can remove the base from.

widescreen sound nice but if u are gamer then take a normal size. Not all games support 1280x800 shit.

i made the mistake to buy a widescreen

I've got no choice over the screen, otherwise I would have changed that part.

Laptops suck if u wanna play.

The GFX sucks too, but for a Laptop its ok.

Desktop for playing, Laptops for working/traveling (w/o playing).

U need no x64 Vista for just 2GB RAM.

It'll play crysis, but I doubt it'll play it with full resolution/effects. As for the rest of the laptop its actually not too bad a buy - if your going for Vista I would recommend against x64 as you need 64 bit drivers which are still slow to be released by hardware manufacturers, but make sure that you have 2GB of RAM because certain things (cough msn) dont work in vista without it - In my experience anyway.

That laptop is good but you can find an equivalent (cheaper) on Dell.com

(Check the Vostro 1500)

Yeah but - Dell's spontaneously combust.

(OK, probably not any more. Was still funny when Dell and Apple laptops started bursting into flames though).

well since I normally leave my PC on for 3 months at a time before I restart, I really don't want my Computer to go up in flames :p

I guess without Dell is the best thing to do ^^

Dell wasn't the one in fault. Sony was with the batteries

I've always been a desktop person...

When I was planning my 3 month Course in Japan...
I thought... "Fuck... what about internet !"

It's not like I can take my Whole desktop on the plane ^^

so I finally decided "I'll get a Laptop !"

I've only got a P4 2.8 GHz Cpu, 2 GB DDR RAM and 7800 GS 512mb GPU

Having this is much better than my current rig anyway :p

ok I've got my laptop, I'll be honest... I do like it :)

but the thing I fucking hate... is FUCKING VISTA !!! omfg...

I find out my USB modem aint got no drivers for vista... so I have a pain in the arse getting online with my faulty Ethernet modem which likes to DC when it get's hot...

I Find out that, games that support DX 10... don't like my drivers so therefore don't let me play with DX 10.

I then find out that there's NO Vista drivers for Mobile nvidia cards :(

so after forcing my computer to install Normal 8600 drivers, I can get the free dx 10 demo of lost planet to work... however, I can't try Bioshock :(
just dies whenever I try to launch the game...

I only got 93 FPS in the CS S stress test...

My friend tells me that I should never have got vista because of drivers 'n' shit... and I agree with him.

I would dual boot XP on here... but i can't since my only copy of XP is a DELL XP disc... eugh :(

I do like my laptop... don't get me wrong but Vista has seriously wanked me off today... in a bad way !
