The Client can indeed be set to launch in WindowMode.
To do so, locate the file neocron.ini in your main Neocron folder and edit/add the line:

PREFWINDOWSIZE = "1024x768"

You can choose other resolutions too, of course.
The next time you launch the client, hold down your SHIFT key, which will bring up the hardware settings panel - for 'mode', select WindowMode at the bottom of the list.


Concerning general guides on the gameplay, neocron.com (http://www.neocron.com) as well as techhaven.org (http://www.techhaven.org) (official fansite) offer some advice. You will also find, that you can get a lot of hints and helpful response when making use of the ingame 'Player to player help channel', located in the 'Custom' section of the Hypercom.

I know the one he is talking about, very old site relivant to nc1 only really in terms of armour/con resists.

Thanks for the post folks, so do I have to add this line: PREFWINDOWSIZE = "1024x768"??

Do I keep the quotations? And when do I hold down shift, after I click on the icon to run the game? Sorry I'm still downloaing the game, just like to get ahead of the game.

In the neocron.ini file, change it to:

PREFMODENAME = "WindowMode"
PREFWINDOWSIZE = "1280x1024"

Second line whatever your res is, unless you really do want it in a little box.
