Oddly enough I get that too, though only on my new comp, the old one worked fine.

FPS can be good, while ping is 1000. So i bet it has something to do with your GPU and drivers. So, give us details about your machine. Atleast graphic card and drivers you are using.

First i would try to update drivers of g-card. So get the latest from www.ati.com or www.nvidia.com .

I have a GeForce FX 5700VE, which I can't find the drivers for on the nVidia site.

CPU is an AMD Sempron 3000+.

try either more up-to-date GFX drivers for whatever card you have, changing NC to run on DX7 or 9, and lastly try a defrag of your PC. I noticed before if I try and watch a video and its jumpy as fuck, I defrag the PC, and the video plays smooth and fine! :)

Maybe it's some application in the background that is causing it? Anti-Virus?

A lack of memory maybe...

GeForce FX 5700VE is NOT good. Its very old and that might cause you the fps problems. Never heard VE? But i dont think its good thing.

7600gs IS NOTHING compared to 7600 normal versions. It might be barely same with good 6600. But it should still run NC with decent FPS.. 20-50

I run with 512 MB memory and its fine. I have Celeron 3.06 G and i can fraps with no problems. Gcard is 1600Pro radeon

the problem is your soundcard, turn off your sound in neocron completely :) if that doesnt work then i dont know

ive tried disableing sound and no change, oddly enough after i updated my video cards drivers it was ok at first and there was no problem. it went back tho to the same very spikey fps the next day... ?!

i expect you clicked your sound off, not moved the volume to 0?
ive seen someone with a similar problem like yours, i told him to turn his neocron sound off and the lag disappeared

try typing
/set ctrl_musicvolume 0
/set ctrl_sfxvolume 0

in-game maybe it'll work :O at least worth a try :)
