I'm trying to install 2.2 with Windows Vista. I click on the install file and the pointer turns like it's starting to load and then nothing ever happens. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Leave it running for about 5-10 mins It has to unpack 2 GB of files into virtual memory.

Just give it time.

Then read this post I wrote earlier when it is installed. This will help with the patching problem you are going to have.

I really do urge you to uninstall vista and put another operating system on.

Vista is shocking for games, and it's just not safe enough yet to be recommended for general use.

Bleh. Vista works just fine in most games. Older games *might* be a problem but I've always got them to work with compatibility settings.

People also tend to forget to run their games in administrator mode and then blames everything on Vista because their game didn't work .

Well Vista can run games but with 1/4 less performance than Win XP atm.

Dunno if it's because the non optimized drivers or highload new OS... We'll see when Crysis and Bioshock are out. RAWR

Hmm seen a benchmark between Vista and XP. XP had higher score in much stuff but Vista was faster with HD accessing etc.

If those statistics really apply to games I don't know. I'm happy with the game performance in Vista anyway and I think Vista runs just fine judging from how many more services Vista is running compared to XP

Im running neocron under vista on my new laptop and i am having no problems with playing it. I have a stable 40 - 60 fps and the sync times are minimal. Loading new sectors and rendering them is no problem only the occasional blip here and there.

Overall Its no differerent for me under vista or XP...
