Microsoft have been hit with a $1.52 billion fine, for patent infringement. And what was the reason? MP3s... It looks like this could affect a huge number of companies, though obviously Microsoft are likely to appeal it. And we all know that the Microsoft lawyers are experts at stretching out legal cases when they need to. Anyway, the story is here.
