Are we ever going to see the launcher fixed so people running Linux can connect to the server ?. (Ive tried both cedega and wine both were useless.)

And yes I have searched. I really just made this thread more of to show that there are linux users that wish to play neocron 2.

You can still start the game if you get it fully updated from windows. You have to use the Client.exe though. It has the same problem as the launcher though, it hangs, unable to connect to the server.

Well I just canceled my subscription if I ever hear its running under Cedega or wine I will get back into it. Until then I have no intention of paying when im not using it anymore.

It's weird that it wont connect in linux, nc2 uses winsock 2 which I think is supported in cedega/wine?

I've also canceled my subscription. The game is great and fun, but it's the only thing that's keeping me from switching to linux completely.

Also, Wine/Cedega is not emulation, it runs Windows stuff via API's; that's why it can outperform Windows most of the time.

Has anyone tried NC2 in ReactOS? ( http://www.reactos.org/ )

i never heard about this Reactos is it easy to use it? did you try to make NC work with it?

ReactOS is an attempt to merge Linux and Windows (in a really really tiny nutshell). It has massive hardware issues (including PHYSICAL HARDWARE DAMAGE :wtf: ) and really only runs under VMWare and on a tiny set of hardware.
Even if you could get NC running on it, it'll have about 7 frames an hours at best.

ouch well i gues that is not a good solution for Linux users...

Hehe never tried the OS, a friend says it's a bit dodgy. Never heard about hardware damage though, what kind of hardware damage are we talking about here?

This OS is as compatible as Vista is 4*(-10). :P

Still 5 votes needed there:

But I fear it won't be considered by transgaming even if we get enough votes.

I've never even been able to get a mouse nor a standard ethernet connection to work in ReactOS.
