I was wondering if you still have to open yourself up to pvp to get items at a decent rate instead of when u wouldnt need them anymore like it use to be in the begining?

*EDIT* Also if i liked the trial and decided to come back, would i need to buy the game again or could i just patch from the old CDs i got when the game first released?

The Penalty on Experience gain for retaining the LE Chip (No PVP) was removed a while back.

So no difference exists now other than the get ganked if your low level PvP enabled(i.e. Remove the LE CHip)

NC1 is dead and gone. Can't patch it

NC2 is a whole client which you will have to purchase. I think its cheaper to purchase a copy in stores than pay for the download.
