I got my first pair of New Rocks today!

*pop*

Oooh my New Rock cherry popped.

They are fine fine boots with a nice zip down the side, silver flames on the front, elegant black straps and more metal than a kid with braces smashed up in a car accident.

Yes, I am indeed happy at my x-mas prezzie.

Any other gothically inclined peeps out there who would like to share similar tastes in fashion?

Wrong. You'll find most Emo scum wear these.

If anything, its indie kids who wear converse. I admit to wearing converse, simply for comfort.

Those fringes they have over their eyes cause bad depth perception and lazy eye.

No wonder they're depressed

You'll actually find they're depressed because their comfortable middle-class back ground is sooooo utterly terrible

LOL :p

DZ = Dozen

They're $18 a dozen. They're party hats after all... you'll have more than one guest at your party so they're sold in bulk :P

3 dozen = a half case

5 dozen = a case

One size fits all ;)

Gotta' love the Emo stereotypes, and how untrue they are.

I used to have some Newrocks a while back, sold them on Ebay eventually, pretty sexy, but damn heavy.

Now giga we don't hold prejudice on these boards.

Hippies, goths, cyber punks, metalers, emos and nerds can come here in peace because in the outside world they get ripped to shreds

Hey, I had a fling with an emo girl. Slashed wrists and a nipple longer than the other. She had a boyfriend but...meh :D

lollerskates, so i'm a poser for what reason? because I don't just jump on the bandwagon of flaming Emos?
Grow up.
I don't get ripped to shreds in real life either, in fact, I get complimented a lot.

Giga fails.

Let's not derail this thread.

We are discussing fashion and wierd fashion at that. If you got something to say to each other PM it. Otherwise put ya hand bags away

All emos are posers. Fact of life. Throw them all down the well.

I believe everyone is entitled to their own unique sense of fashion and style. After all the clothes you wear are a collage of outfits you have discovered.

My gripe with the emo movement is the almost clone like fashion and lack of individualism.

Am I a goth?

No. Though i can be seen as gothic.

What am I then?

Me :)

I wear a bright red womens jacket with black nails and two silver thumb rings, black boots, a red cowboy hat with zebra stripes and a shiny black shirt. This is one of my many outfits.

Then I'll wear just all plain black. Or black with a letaher trench coat.

That jacket is pretty l33t, a bit much for just casual wear though, I have something like that from lipservice.

I wouldn't say my fashion style is unoriginal, I never see anyone that wears the things that I do, but the closest that it comes to would be considered "Emo" or "Scene" but I let others decide.

I just get fed up with the stereotyping, ok "some" people probably are "Emo" and "depressed" but the strong majority are not, seriously, theres no need to jump on the bandwagon just for the sake of it, you know what I think is unoriginal? certain peoples attitudes.

That wasn't directed at Hell Demon, only a select few.

RogerRamjet

My gripe with the Emo movement is, as Matthew said, the majority (if not all) are not depressed. Most are from comfortable middles-class backgrounds with no problems at all. No matter what anyone says, it is the fashion or the scene at the moment, the same as indie was considered the scene the year ago (which it still is, Emo and Indie seem to co-exist at the moment). Its only a matter of time till it passes, and (hopefully) glam rock will see a re-emergence. Its also an outlet for peoples shite poetry.

Am I on the band wagon? No. I can slag off any type of fashion movement. I myself would be considered "indie" by some, however I listen to very few bands circa 1982, and if I did, theyre certainly bands which the majority of people won't have heard of. Do I care if I get labelled indie by stereotype? Not really. I couldn't give a flying fuck. I also would never consider buying in to the indie (or emo) fashion. Tight jeans, stupid hair, whats the deal? Some of the guys I know (I say know, read as met but can't stand the presence of) wear girls jeans. Crotchless, girls jeans. So, not only do they have the legs of an 8 year old school boy, I can only assume as to what the rest of their anatomy is like.

Seriously, if people are that concerned about how their self-image revolves around what clothes they wear, I consider that a sad reflection on society. Don't get me wrong, wear what you like, express yourself, whatever, but don't let your physical image dictate your life.

And unfortunately Matthew, the majority of "Emos" do fit into the stereotype, hence why its a stereotype.

And unfortunately Matthew, the majority of "Emos" do fit into the stereotype, hence why its a stereotype.Anyone who calls themself an emo fits the stereotype. There's so many of them these days that they aren't even being different, they are just doing it to fit in.

This description is pretty funny :

Emo:
An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality. The concept of Emo is actually a vicious cycle that never ends, to the utter failing of humanity, and it goes something like this:

1. Girls say they like "sensitive guys" (lie)
2. Guy finds out, so he listens to faggy emo music and dresses like a dork so chicks will see that he is sensitive and not afraid to express himself (lie). He dyes his hair black, wraps himself in a stupid looking scarf, develops an eating disorder, and rants about how "nobody understands".
3. Now an emo guy, he meets Emo chick and they start dating, talking about how their well-off suburban lifestyles are terrible and depressing (lie)
4. Emo guy is just too much of a pussy. His penis is too small, he's too depressed to bathe, and has more mood swings than emo chick, and he doesn't even have a menstrual cycle. Emo chick dumps him, saying "It's not you, it's me." (lie) as she drives off with Wayne, the school jock and captain of the football team.
5. Emo guy goes home and cries, proceeds to write a weak song and strum a single string on his acoustic guitar. Another emo chick sees how he is so in touch with his feelings, and the cycle continues.

This is the sad truth of the emo lifestyle/music, and now that I look at how pathetic it really is, maybe the emos DO have something to cry about!

When she sees how sensitive and emo I have become, she'll definately go out with me!

Camo pants + leather jacket with spikes/studs + New Rocks or other form of hardcore boots = the win. And a gauntlet on occasion.

That said, I don't care to pick on emo any more than any other subculture. If thats what people are into, so be it.
Equally, I was a pretty damn angsty teen.
But letting the angst define you? Or faking it to be part of the group... thats odd.
