Hi, I have a PE with a ton of PSI points I havent used and I dont really know what to do with them.

1. What are some good PSI skills to level?

2. What are some good PSI spells for a PE?

3. Where do you get them?

Thanks

Well, since your new im asuming your pro-city.

What you DEFINATLY need is:

TL 3 Heal (Or the TL 10 one if you do the Mr. Jones mission on a field medic)
Heal Sanctum (Also heals you but for a longer period of time and you can have it running along with your normal heal, add a medkit for some fast healing)
A Deflector (Reduces Piercing / Force damage)
A Shelter (Reduces Fire/X-ray/Energy damage, maybe poison)
Basic Resist Booster 1 (Ups some stats like Force Resist, Health and a bit more)
Pistol Combat Booster (If you use pistol, but just get the one corresponding with your weapon choice)
Spy Booster (Adds Hack, Implant and Agility, or another booster of your choice)

You can buy all of theese (Except the TL 10 Heal) in Pepper Park 3, tehre are 3 smugler locations in that sector, so look around or ask someone to show you.

And dont go APU (Aggresive PSI use) its just not worth it.

You can use Basic resist booster 2 without drug.

With Nightspider you can use Heat 1 or Hazard 1 and Blessed deflector.

PEs benefit most from PPU spells. It is possible to make APU PEs, but it's only really been done for a laugh and it's really not viable at all.

The are four skills you really need to focus on:
The first and most obvious one is ppu, this affects nearly all aspects of a spells performance, though to a lesser or greater degree than other skills.
Mental steadines is purely a requirement for a spell, it has no affect on anything else, so you only need spec the minimum mst to use the spell.
PPW, psi power, affects mainly the damage of a spell and the size of your psi pool.
Lastly, psu, psi use. A skill under intelligence. This affects psi pool slightly, rnage and casting speed.

Concerning psi skills 'setup'.
You will want to get the most out of your spells, and a poorly constructed psi setup can really hamper things.
One example is the ratio by which different skills affect stats on spells, especially damage.
PPU and PPW both increase the damage on a spell, but the relative increase is 0.65 ppu to 0.35 ppw.
Clearly spending points in ppu is preferable, but only up to 50 ppu, because then you are paying double points.
So a spell might have a 56 ppu and 31 mst requirement (tl 25 shelter) you'd want to reach the bare minimum ppu/mst and put points into ppw.
Untill of course you reach 50 ppw and it swaps back to ppu.
This is generally called, 'point efficiency'. It is part of all aspects of all areas of creating a setup.

As to what spells to use, there's probably at least 7:

Tl10 heal, from the Jones mission.
Tl3 deflector, reduces piercing and force damage.
Tl25 shelter, reduces fire, energy and xray damage.
Tl29 damage boost, does what it says on the tin, increases the damage dealt to an affected player/mob.
Tl18 basic resist booster 2, adds +15 hlt, force resist and poison resist.
Tl5 combat booster 1. There's one for all weapons types, for a PE it's usually pistol or rifle.
Tl5 spy booster, adds +5 hacking, +4 implant and +3 agility.

Then there's some other spells that you may be interested in.

Tl35 blessed deflector, same as the tl tl 3 version, but more poweful. As it's higher tl, it takes longer to cast and more psi energy.
Tl39 basic resist booster 3, adds +20 htl, +15 forece, energy and fire resist.
Tl40 hazard resist booster 1, adds +15 htl and +20 xray and poison resist.
Tl40 heat resist booster 1, adds +15 htl and +20 energy and fire resist.

Note that you will have to use drugs for the last three, as the PE psi cap is 35.

'Level 1' spells can be found at the smugglers in pepper park 3 and CMHQ, also in DoY from the crahn vendors.
All other spells are either crahn fsm/db items or from a smuggler in CSHQ.

With Nightspider you can use Heat 1 or Hazard 1 and Blessed deflector.
Blessed def is tl 35 you don't need to drug for it.
Unless of course you use PA, then you do (you will also have to spec additional mst if you want to use blassed def while wearing PA).
