of course it seems no matter what happens, things are gonna get worse before they get better. No doupt theres gonna be a war over resources (there already is), and some how theres gonna be some breaking point that our generation is going to have to bear the burden. Its the end times for many I would think within quite a few generations, but not the end time for all. Nature has a nice way of rebounding after a while when unnatural things occure for extended periods of time, it may not be pretty at first, but eventually things work out (not always for humanity albet)

by the way, Didnt one of the NEXT employees say it best that why should we get anouther planet to destroy?

i have said this before...and people probly get it from my name...but i cant wait for the apocalypse. With things in their current situation, i will likely be dead of "Natural Causes" By the time i am 50 anyways, and at the rate the icecaps are melting, the second iceage wont be long. (technically the third or fourth i guess) Now if we have a nuculear war over resources and i live, i will be the happiest man on earth  make a large rebel force in my city and build a wall all the way around it and declare the city Tech Haven.

Just a few fun-filled facts about ice ages for ya, since you mentioned them...

1. Ice ages happen in cycles, and we're actually right in the middle of the time when they may show up, so we should see one within the next few thousand years (disregarding us screwing up nature, which may hasten or forstall ice ages)

2. Ice ages can be triggered by any number of things, including polar ice caps missing, shifts in the planet's axis (which apparently happen cyclical, too) and atmospheric gas content (go greenhouse effect!)

3. Ice ages can take less than 20 years to go from what we have now to a full blown ice age..... everyone be sure to stock up on sweaters as you may see one within your life time!

Heh we don't need to wait for anything 'serious' just wait for the fossil fuels to run out and you got chaos. Hybrid cars won't run either without gasoline.
