ATI catalyst driver settings unexpectedly changing

Does anyone else have this same problem? I have searched the web for answers and I seem to be the only one having this problem...

Firstly let me just confirm I'm use the latest ATI catalyst drivers (currently 6-9) with the lastest .net framework v2 installed. I have tried re-installing but the problem persists:

When I load up the Catalyst display panel it will randomly set my 3D settings regardless of what I have set them to previously. It does not do this everytime though. Sometimes it will even change the refresh rate to 60 but yet it say it is on 85 (I can tell it is on 60, because of the annoying flicker).

Generally it will set the MipMap Level to Performance rather than Quality, enable the Catalyst A.I.

What are the cards °C?

I'm pretty sure it's not the temperature. If it was the settings would default back to the same ones each time, but they don't. It puts the settings on random settings.

After vigerous testing on full load:

Core peaks around 69 degrees
Mem peaks around 51 degrees

69 Ain't hot enough to reset the card though.

Any ideas why this is still happening?

Because ATI cards are trash.. buy nvidia :)

rollback your drivers to see if its a driver or hardware fault
