Someone wanna send me their vent details so I can test this damn thing? Extra soundcard dedicated to vent woo (so I don't gotta disconnect my stereo.) Why won't the fucking thing let me assign mouse 4/5 as the talk button? :(

BUT Ventrllo 2.1 does not,, Alot of NC vents use 2.1 , Napper has a new one- Its posted somewhere..... On one of the threads..
NAPPER posted his vent details in newbie talk... I guess I could do that as a test but I'm sure there's a 1000 idiots on there by now. Functionality yes, sanity no.

With the amount of bloody time it takes to load these forums on 56K , you can get Nappers vent details urself -

Set up your own vent server. I'm doing that for sure for my clan, I just wanted to test the fucking thing first but whatever.
And me, atm.
Also, get ventrilo mix (see THN for a source). This includes 2.1 and 2.3 so you can connect to both easily enough.

Also on 2.1 have you tried using DirectInput to get mouse button 4 and 5?

i couldnt get em too work no matter what, they work on 2.3 no probs

As the users of the THN vent server said, they are not going to PM you the details, unless you are a member of one of the clans registered there.

dont run one on your machine -
It sucks and you can have 5 users, unless you use 2.1, which sucks and is illegal -

You have to pay for a license subrscription
Also , on ADSL if you host your own, you will find 5/6 users + Your connection will lag to hell and back..
typefrag is the best server host i can think of , thats viable for cheap good realible.
They have a good control panel, and record full logs of user IP and everything -
As if you run it from your PC -

Whats wrong with the pings you get normally in games like CS , The way it advertises is that it would give you an advantage..
The only way a ping of 10 less would advantage you is on a hack server.... Where its Ping v Ping ....
+ Its all delusional anyways ...
ADSL is 5120/1024 btw....
5mb Doesnt not = 5000 but 5120....

Actually with the killernic I could presumably throttle the vent server to some value less than my max so that my ping ingame wouldn't be affected. I'm fairly certain I could actually run the server on the card too..
5000/1000 is what my provider calls it so nyah. :p
