I was wondering right! (I do this sometimes)
Could i become a pirate in RL life and sail teh seas plundering shit, and saying like AHOY! and what happens if i get caught.
But the main problem im seeing atm is im not going to be able to plunder alot of other pirate ships cus i dont know many other pirates =/
And any offeres on names for the parrot?

And any offeres on names for the parrot? Crazy......why? Because he's the biggest parrot on these forums :)
Unfortunately aircraft and speedboats ruin any ye olde style swashbuckling. :(
I was thinking that those scurvery dogs that travel on yachts and shti carry some plunder so i may board their ship make em walk the plank and enjoy my pirate self on their expenses.
And if i die due to piracy ill say Ha, AHOY i be teh pirate, and before i die ill say Neocron Pwnz then maybe we will get more players :angel: Who says i dont do much for neocron

There are pirates in real life... most notably in the shores of eastern Southern America, Eastern Africa and most of the Indian Ocean.
While most "pirates" tend to not be very conventional as most countries do have capable cost guards and most ships have satellite based security systems. Instead they are known to infiltrate a ships when its on shore (come with a speedboat and assault rifles, board, take the loose cash etc.).
Allthough in the waters of the eastern African coast there are known to be some seemingly traditional pirates with their own ships that usually plunder small primitive trading boats. But... they dont use the black flag...to obvious lol.
And and the Sea of China has its own pirates but i dont know much about them. I doubt they use the flag either.
As for you getting caught...well youl be killed or jailed as any other armed criminal you wannabe pirate.
Piracy still goes on, mostly off the east coast of africa (namely somalia) and in south-east asia. Speedboats and AK47s rather than sailboats and cutlasses are the order of the day however. You'll have to be prepared to avoid both local and US/UK naval assets, probably be fluent is some asian language (as well as able to shout threats in english) and be thoroughly ruthless.
If you get caught, chargers will likley include piracy (pretty serious) as well as armed robbery and likley murder (when it comes to the private yachts rather than big cargo ships, its normal to kill the occupants of the yacht and sell it on).

True, you could jack cruise liners as they cant get you done while far out at sea as there is no laws out there, people've been murdered on cruise liners with no one being jailed for it etc.
there are laws, but the enforcement is close to nonexistent :p

So far ive been pirateing sinse this morning and so far i have taken over the main ventrillo channel by constantly playing the pirate tune and weneva an international person rings to sell my dad windows or summit i play it to him to.

Oh and if you really do become a pirate, don't be suprised when the UK or US navy puts a few belt-fulls of GPMG fire through your wooden speedboat (wooden = little radar signiture, frequent tactic).
Or if they don't want to kill you, literally make you shit yourself and deafen you with a sound gun (also mounted on many civilian vessels now, low freq sound waves focused on a target causing intollerable pain and muscle failure).

The only money making pirates I have heard about are the ones over in the southern Philipines. When families tried to get into the northern part of Malaysian Borneo by boat they were often raided by pirates. These pirates would jump onto the boat of immigrants and randomly hack at them with machetes to instill a bit of fear then take everything of value that they own. A Physio friend of mine worked over there as a VSO and told me about having to massage deep scar tissue to the surface from horrendous injuries suffered in such a way.
If pirating is what you are up for then I would suggest getting a degree in whatever, doing a teaching english course then moving to somewhere like Borneo. In your schol holidays buy a nice little speed boat and pressgang some people smugglers/pimps or drugrunners (other such nefarious types may be suitable, but the professions don't currently spring to mind) and go ride the high seas. The honest to goodness swashbuckling piratical way of life should be aplenty as your prey will be too malnurished and most certainly defenseless to protect themselves.
As for what kind of attire would be appropriate or naming of parrots I have no idea (never owned a parrot).
