Hello, I require a program that can take a random set of letters, eg. ENRATSBOB
and turn the letters into words.

Can someone help me please.

I take it you want to cheat on Countdown? :)

nobby

Can someone help me ?

edit:// I need it to find 9 letter words please.

Here's a large list of 9 letter words in English: http://aaron.doosh.net/lexicon/09LetterWords.html - Until you find something to download you can just stare at the list and hope you match a word to the letters. I don't want to write a little program for you if you're just going to cheat against someone. Well, too late, I just did, saved me looking through that big arse list to find out what ENRATSBOB really was. Unfortunately my brain doesn't have a built in dictionary like Cmasters. :p

So are you trying to cheat against someone at Scrabble instead? The only other reason I can think of is you're trying to do some of those word puzzles in random magazines to try and win prizes. Most likely a trip to Japan? If that's the case then np, I'll send you it. lol

There's not many other reasons I can think of to be turning a bunch of randomly garbled letters into a single word, unless it's reversing a minimalistic, inefficient and random form of encryption. I doubt that's what you'll be needing it for, maybe you could enlighten me. :)

PS. ENRATSBOB is Absorbent ;)

it's so I can cheat on a text-in TV programme :p

nobby
06-08-06, 05:33
Well I would have won thanks to you guys :p
But sadly I didn't know I only had £1.10 remaining which wasn't enough for me to text in the 9 letter and 8 letter words to ensure I had enough points :(

But I'll top up and win £100 tomorrow :p

you do realise like 100+ people text in the right answer?

unreal
06-08-06, 13:08
lol I knew it. Judging by the time you posted I'm guessing you were watching that bag of shite thing on ITV. I watched Raw Deal on BBC1 at whatever time it was then a few hours later I flicked through the channels and there was some girl on ITV with a deformed nose, just stood there next to the phone-in quiz menu down the left hand side of the screen. I quickly turned the TV off, and put an end to my brief torture. :p

I might turn it on and pay attention to it next time. I wonder what you would say if the woman went "pwnt by unreal, this £100 is not yours!". lol

1.10 a text, for 100 quid prizes?

Think how many people text in. Multiply that by £1.10. That's a lotta money. Yer getting done over nobbs.

nobby

no no no, I Texted in the 9 letter word, once you get a word, you get points, You get bonus points if you get the letter 1st and so on.

When I got the 9 letter word, I got 37 points I think, And I was told in the reply text that I was the 1st one :p , but they cost 70p a text, At the end, the guy who came 1st only had 61 points.

I think if I had more cash on my phone, I well would have won.

ps, It's the ITV play programme at 4:00AM After Love island live.

No person speaking, just a computerised text game on screen.

Ah, same sort of thing though. The programme I saw momentarily had a woman just stood there pulling faces at the screen, and she had a fucked up nose that made her look like a tanned alien. lol Your thing must have come on afterwards. Still, they're a rip off. Why not donate your money to charity instead of some greedy bastards back pocket?

Or do what I prefer. Buy loads of M&M's and put them in a mini bucket until you have hundreds. lol I found a £20 note in my top drawer the other day when I was looking for some scissors, I randomly spent it all on M&M's when I went to the shop. Should have seen the look on the womans face when I went to the counter with quite a few handfuls of M&M's. 8|

Should have told her you needed extra cause you throw away all the Ws :D

Yup, king of the chat up lines, me

@ Nobby: Your gullibility alone should be enough reason for a perma ban from all forums worldwide; for your own protection if nothing else.

Just your admission alone that you actually want to go out and spend more money topping up your phone just in the vain hope you might win something shows your naivety or the beginnings of an addiction. Having a flutter with what spare cash you have is one thing. Wanting to gamble with what you haven't got at any given time is the first sign of a problem.

If you want to use your word skills to win money, enter newspaper crossword competitions or something. Don't bother with anything that needs multiple entries at premium rate phone costs to even come close.

For his own good, Speedball.

Realising you are being taken for a ride by a premium rate sms abusing company may be a bitter pill to swallow, but to realise the foolishness of spending money on these daft text-in programmes, swallowed it must be.

Having said that, those programmes are kinda funny to watch when you come home after a night on the piss, if only to laugh at the stupid people who phone in - usually giving an answer that's been given three times in the last 10 minutes or even an answer that's been given and displayed on the screen - but i'd never actually spend money on such garbage.

Nid's link says it all ;)

I think exactly the same as you. And I did never call to a show like this too. But there are different ways to tell someone that you dislike what he does.

Don't worry about it. I'm on vent with Nobby right now so he knows what i think about those shows and his getting carried away with entering.

I'm aware there are different ways to tell someone etc. but in case you haven't noticed, i call a spade a spade.

With my money coming in, I dunno what to spend it on, so some is going into phone credit.

I must admit, this could be an obsession or addiction, but I feel my Odds are greatly increased because of the website :)

Anyway, I'll give it a try tonight :p

Hell I'll make sure I come 1st, Change my random name from Jahini1 to Nobby and take a picture of the top 5 on screen with my webcam :p

Hmm...I'd use my money to buy neocron Items :p

But no, It's not allowed on the forums...

Heavyporker
08-08-06, 20:23
Nobby, did you mean RL neocron items or ingame stuff?

Both are allowed. Reakktor has a site from Cafepress.com to sell Neocron merchandise like mugs, mousepads, clothes (including the infamous thong).

You could look on Ebay for ingame items, but selling has rather dropped off because if anyone isn't buying, no one's offering.

It's only that KK doesn't allow Ebay advertising on the official forums.

You know, if that new trading site comes up, it just might become vastly easier to sell ingame items for real cash.
