View Full Version : Will the Geforce 7950GX2 work with NC2?

I'm thinking about purchasing a Geforce 7950GX2 card. Just cause I can. :) I was wondering if anyone has one already? The most important question is... Does it and it's most recent drivers work with Neocron. For this answer I would probably need a Dev's help.

The exact card info is:
eVGA 01G-P2-N592-AX Geforce 7950GX2 1GB 512-bite GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Dual GPU Video Card

nope. and that's confirmed by holger himself. I just had coffee with him and we spoke about it specifically.

better spend it on some hardware 101 training instead.

I'm curious to know how you know it works?
Do you own one yourself?
Has this question already been ask to on another thread because I did NOT see it during a search.
Has this card been properly tested by the DEV team?
I'm more curious to know does it work on the 'client world'. Sometimes things are overlooked in development.
Try not to flame or be a smart-a$$ this time. Get to the point or go be a board whore some where else. I'm looking for "real" answers here.

The NC dev Team are only small, i dought they have the time/finance to test every video card....

Of course it will work, I am unsure that Neocron will use both GPU's though, I think 3d applications have to be specially designed for that but I could be wrong?

its a nvidia card, essentially built specifically for windows XP and its DX9 games.

why wouldn't it work?

and Rob444, i think SLI is different from things like dual processors in that the program doesnt know there are two processors pusing instead of one.

Dont see why it shdnt work, the only thing i read about that didnt work properly....yet....was SLI'ing 2 7950s but 7950 is basically just two 7900GT SlI'ed up in a box afaik. ;)

But going for a single 7900GTX might be better, gives the oppertunity to add another 79GTX at a later time :D

ah, hm, naphead i got the card but i cant test it atm.
The Mobo ive ordered doesnt work with my conroe E6600.
ive ordered a new one now, but the board will be available at the 15th august. Hope i can test it then.
I can just say, that the card is very big.

if it's DX compatible, why it shouldn't work ? That's the interest of standards :) (if we can call DX a standard :rolleyes: )

psh u need a nural upgrade :P

unfortunatly as u can see they run out of room on my brain and used the speach and language recognition areas to overwrite my uber processing abilitys =] so now im fucked when it comes to spelling ;)
