For the last week or so, i have been losing connection to my router when I try to Login to NC, but it doesnt happen everytime. Like today for instance, I have been playing all day with only a few problems, but now it starts getting late and i have the connection issue everytime I try to login.

I lose connection to everything, Vent, NC, Internet, and even my router, but im not sure it is the router because my wife's computer is right next to mine, connected to the same vent, also playing NC, but she has no problems, like mine anyway. I lose the connection for about 20-30 seconds before I can log into vent again, or use the internet.

I logged into my router and checked the firewall logs, and found this but i have no idea what it all means:

Firewall log:
Thurs Jul 27 20:41:32 2006 1 Blocked/RST by DoS protection 192.168.2.2

All of those times are exactly the same times as when I try to log into NC.
This seems to have started about a week ago, and doesnt happen every time i connect, but definantly more often in the evenings, usually the few times it does connect, im stuck in sync. My NC port number is set to a different port than my wife's, and i have tried without vent running but i still have problems.
Thanks for any help ;)

try port forwarding, could be cancellation of data do to duplication of port information

maybe u try to post some more information about your network, your computer, your Hardware(!), your ROUTER ?

some routers could need a FW-upgrade, mayself using a DLink 624, which hangs alot after a couple of days uptime (i made myself a quicklink on the desktop to reboot it, sometimes i was used to kick it to reboot).

check the web for your motherboard, cause i know theres a naughty Nvidia-onboardnic problem arround. check your motherboard for pieheads (http://www.cheatha.de/logd/elko.jpg).

I suspect that means that your machine alone (i.e. not your wife's) is flooding your router with packets, thus tripping a Denial of Service attack protection routine to protect against a Smurf or Fraggle attack etc. Your router is effectively saying to you "You're trying to break me, therefore I'm going to ignore everything you say".

It sounds like your machine may be a zombie or have some other kind of virus on it.
