View Full Version : [OT] What other games are you playing?
More and more people seem to be not playing Neocron anymore, only a select few (about 4 people) from TFC actually login to Neocron, even if they're just levelling as always. I keep checking the CityCom runners online list for specific factions every 30mins or so to see if people are on, but the recognised activity is minimal. I haven't played Neocron in much sense of the word for over two weeks now, the population is that low, and there's generally not much to do other than endless levelling, unelss I enjoy being Paraspammed if I actually find someone to shoot. My guess is people are sick of the current style of play (generally involving Paraspam as mentioned above), by the large clans that are left and just stopped bothering. What other games/MMORPG's are you guys playing instead? I need something to take away the boredom. :p
PS. Keep this spam free please, it's a genuine question, just say what games you currently play apart from Neocron (well, that is if you still play Neocron) ATM. 8|
I'm a TaruTaru Black mage called Spatula on ff11 at the moment. I also run an accretian Warrior named Euronyx, on the spirit server for RF online. ( Inactive)
Bit of DoD:S, bit of Gary's mod, some System Shock 2 (anyone fancy a multiplayer game?). Also the games on jippii.com with other TFC people, plus whatever CD I randomly grab and decide to throw in the computer.
Theres also always a forum based politcal roleplay thing that I'm involved in (and more members would never hurt, PM me if you want more info). And well, none of the sports I do count as games I guess. Oh, some UT2004 too. I'll probably pick some random single player game and complete it over this exam period rather than do revision too.

I hear that. Dusted off my C&C Generals Zero Hour CDs and completed the single player mode(s) of that. I don't realy play it online, can't stand the idiots in the Generals online community. That and I can beat any computer opponent, and couldn't stand the humiliation of being beaten by a real opponent :p
Soldat (2D online sideshooter. Cross between CS and worms. Ownage :p )

Lineage 2 most of the time.
I only log on to Neocron to kill people nowadays. Which isn't often I'm afraid to say.
lol, Soldat looks mint. I recently started playing Minigolf on Jippii (http://www.jippii.com/) after not playing it for about a year, A few other TFC followed suit and it was pretty funny. All good fun, but the novelty has already started to wear off, I'll probably wait another few months or so before going back to it again.
I recently decided to play F.E.A.R, didn't take long to complete it. Bit of a disappointing game, but still great fun. The Max Payne/Matrix slow motion while gangbanging a room full of enemies routine never gets old.
I also bought Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter to see what it was like, only cost me £15, thought it was pretty pants though. The whole requirement of telling your AI team what to do at every instance got quite boring. The physics wasn't up to scratch compared to other games, and there was a few itty gritty things which made the experience that bit worse. You couldn't drop/pick up weapons, you had to be stuck with the weapons you picked for the mission, even if you have no ammo left and can't do a single thing with it. The most dreadful part of the game is regarding the image quality. Because of current hardware limitations, the lighting system won't allow any form of AntiAliasing to be enabled, which results in leaving you with choppy images, which look absolutely terrible. Not to mention, no matter what difficulty you're on, all the enemies had the equivalent of godmode regarding their aiming abilities, not good. :p
I just decided to download a random demo of a golfing game, called Over The Hedge (http://www.3dgamers.com/screenshots/games/overthehedge/). Fear the almighty golfing squirrel of doom. Might be fun for a few minutes. :p
Battlefield 2, Americas Army ( SF Only ) and Hitman series.
Playing singleplayer games atm, I find them having better stories and world interaction than any multiplayer game out there.. ATM I play Oblivion and Condemned - Criminal Origin. Used to play a few hl2 mods (Garry's mod, Dystopia and urghh.. CSS), but that have been put on the shelf atm, I don't find it entertaining enough with 200+ ms anymore (gf downloading over dc++ all days long..).
Oblivion is nice indeed, I like the environment, wish it were more like Morrowind's environment though, I miss the silk striders moaning in the sunrise.
Condemned I started playing yesterday, I've had it for ages but never actually played it. I was really impressed by the awesome graphics and SUPER animations. The game is scary as well, I screamed like a girl at one point when I peaked over the staircase from a floor above and a guy jumped up and grabbed the edge and tried to climb over with his zombie looking face and punched me in the face. Awesome small in-game cinematics in the game as well, AI is cool too, they run and hide behind corners and waits until you get close enough and they'll jump out and try to hit you with their weapon, they make it a habit though, you can hear them coughing etc. and they run around like fools sometimes and you see where they went to hide, so AI can be pretty stupid too. Guns are hard to get in the game which is cool because that means you need to find weapons in the environment instead (metal pipes from walls, or why not just use a drawer to bash your enemies with?), really impressed indeed... I hate the environment though, so depressing, ugh!!

I play rise of nations atm, oblivion, and wwiionline rarely. I'm waiting for www.armedassault.com and also looking for new games all the time. I played hearts of iron 2 doomsday to death and won with germany so i uninstalled the game.
I enjoy skill trees, complex games, strategy, tactics, gear knowledge.
But i still play RPG's , FPS, RTS games and other types because i dont have any favorite genres. Neocron is the closest to what i prefer wich is fps/rpg hybrid. I love twitch games, i used to like pnc games for a while but after trying all those pnc games like wow/eve/eq2 i just cant play any of those games anymore. They usually require you to mashup your 123456789 keys and that's about it, no skills required imho except in pvp , and i find pnc in pvp awefull after trying many games.
There's PREY also coming out wich looks pretty normal but well see what 3drealms can offer in 2006. Theres much more but i cant remember them all.

Been on a bit of a break from comp games these last six months, but in our house we mostly retro:
Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Brothers, Clay Fighter and a bunch of other N64 games that are lounge and intoxication friendly.
Any attempts to get my friends hooked on 'cron have failed :(
Mega lo mania on my genesis emulator...
I just managed to get to the 4th set of lvls...
Then discovered I could research and build a plane, then drop bombs on the cave men :p

Yeah, it's a shame. The only reason I'm not on at the mo ( except waiting for balance) is the pops. Trouble is, the only reason no one else is on either is the pops :p

Are you going to get the new OS Ms is developing so you can play halo 2?
I quite liked Halo but not enough to buy an XBOW for halo 2 and probably not enough to buy a whole new OS, it's just Ms's way of scamming money out of people gotta love their new ideas, first halo 2 is an XBOX only title, then it's a PC title if you buy a new OS... gotta love that, pretty much like the government they just keep finding new and exsiting ways to screw you out of money.
On topic though I was playing CnC Generals as well, completed all three single player campains for zero hour, and did quite a few skirmishes, usually i only play with my brother though, also played half life two, took me a while to get round to it. also played rome total war that's a great game. I'm waiting for my new pc before i play FEAR, Earth 2160, and X3 Reunion.
Starship troopers is a laugh with bugs and all the noob soldiers dying just like in the movie!

heh, XBOW, I do that all the time. Regarding me downloading the Over The Hedge demo, I thought it was a cartoon golfing game... it is, but it's not actually a game where you play golf. It's full of squirrels and other random animals trying to steal food out of human houses. They use golf clubs and golf ball firing guns to gangbang the other animals (such as rats) trying to stop them. Time to find something else, probably a Snooker game. :p
I can never get bored of a realistic snooker game though :angel:

I never heard of this :/. Ah well, no worries, there's probably an alternate way to install the game anyway... I remember Dungeon Siege 2 ONLY WORKED ON WINDOWS XP. Right... bullshit, turns out you could use a parameter for the install to skip that OS detection part, once installed you could play it just fine... It's what you say, they are just trying to get people to buy their new crappy OS. Another reason to not support Microsoft's gaming department and Microsoft at all. I wish Linux support in games were a standard these days, I would switch OS immediately if that was the case...
A bit of DOD: Source if I find the time, work is rather time-devouring these days.
Tried Auto Assault, that one almost convinced me but gameplay was a bit too shallow. Besides, my ATI card had a tendency to crash under AA.
Might play Seed for a while if they get non - cedit card payment organized (it's VERY different from NC).

Currently playing EVE online (Von Mellenthin). I am ready to play NC again, as soon as I get back from Iraq. So please community dont kill the game. Can't PVP on a shoddy internet connection (Iraq) , but at least i have that.
