Well, dropped about 20 warbots last night with a freind. one tech out of 10-15 in the ones i hacked. i died due to getting mugged by a warbot that spawned on my head, but when i came back to look for my belt, i couldnt find it at first. so i said fuck it, cause i didnt need to use it for my guns. after about 10 minutes running around, i spot my belt. and the bastard warbot standing on top of it.

i Pull out my redeemer, and run to the max range i can get. 300 damage a shot, takes about 2 clips to drop him, and i go hack him.

(now see pic.)

So, Morale of this story.

Let warbots kill you, then come back and fuck em over and you get 3 techs :lol:

Get killed by warbot. Get rez from PPU. Kill and hack warbot. Get 3 techs. New exploit ftw.

I highly doubt it works the way you think it does :p

You mean KK don't have 'sentient compassion care-bots' running on their servers?

I would expand it: die x number of times and you get + slots on your CS/whateverweapon

You're not the only one to have noticed a warbot loot anomaly. It seems that the loot inside a warbot isn't predetermined, nor determined on it's death. It seems to be determined by the hack.

An example: TFC hunting party blast a group of warbots to death. If i run in and hack after i get the loot access rights (easy hack) i get regular loot. If i "steal" the hack from somebody else, in other words, someone else does all the damage to the warbot, i run in straight away and hack it (very hard hack because i don't have loot access) and succeed before the rightful owner gets a chance to loot it, it seems to drop uber loot and multiple techs. I tried this on several occasions and it seemed to work every time, providing i got the hack on the first attempt while it was still very difficult.

Funnily enough, the contrary happened in the Juggernaughts today. Killing the 80/80s in there and having access rights meant that the warbot dropped 5 items, sometimes including a tech. "Stealing" the hack meant the warbot contained only 3 items and never a tech. Go figure.

Warbots are strange creatures indeed.

i never have any armor on. i use a redeemer at max range and i try to make sure things dont spawn on my head

The first warbot i ever hacked in nc1 had 4 techs in it. i remember those days :)
altho i used to sell the techs to YOs for around 150cr each.

Find 4 Techparts in one Mob first.

I had 4 techparts in a mob only 2 times. 1 time in a grim chaser. 1 time in a warbot. :D

I think Mr Kot may have hit upon something. Sometimes WBs throw you a difficult hack, even if you did all the damage. When I hack a difficult one, theres usually much better odds of it dropping a tech or more. Also I noticed, if you fail the hack once and have to restart it, you hardly ever seem to get a tech. Of course this could all be bollocks and KK could laugh at every single tech drop and 5 slot theory they read, but still...

From my experience hacking wbs, the speed of the hack seems to give better results. If I hack it in less than 12-13 seconds, I appear to get better drops.

The very first time I hacked a warbot was back in early Neocron 2 (I was never much of a hack/levelling/hunting person) actually if I'm honest I only learnt how the fking hack game actually works only a couple of months ago.

I got one tech, so chuffed.
