I'm using some crap mouse for about 10€. It's working jusdt fine for at least a year now.
Well, apart from randomly uninstalling itself about every 20 minutes for 2 seconds. I hate that goddamn usb device sound.

Having got myself a decent mouse (MX700) (well, actually got it as a present) a while back, I can say quite simply that I'd rather get a really nice mouse as a PC upgrade than a new graphics card. Its your contact point with teh computer - your interaction point with the game. With a quality mouse, its so much more fun and more pleasant to game. Its easy to say "but OMG you can get a nouse for £2 noob!" and you can, but if you spend the extra, you will sure as hell notice the difference.
Mind you, the G7 is rather pricey. An MX518 or MX1000 would probay be a more sensible purchase.

About 65 dollars i think that works out at, I jsut used Google for a Large amount of info to post about the mouse -

ebuyer is cheap as hell, but they tend to lose shit in delivery's, (But they refund wot they lose *_* )
