I just finished watching all of berserk, and that has to get my vote. Every aspect of it was near perfect. Voices where good, animation was good, characters where good and the story was one of the best ever.

So whats the best anime you have ever seen?

Anime aint my thing, i like stuff like Monthy Python or unserious movies like Kungpow. But movies like Ice Age on english is kinda funny, since the one with ex swedish voices suck. :p

Ghost in the shell is way overrated, it's one of those titles that people who know a little bit about anime bandy around as genius, purely because it's one of the few they've seen.

It's only popular because it's in english. That and it has one minute silence by brian eno and U2, which kicks arse. :D

Trigun suffered terribly from the one thig that really pisses me off about a lot of anime.
Posing a highly subjective question (in this case, is it ever right to kill anyone), and then answering it!
Kenshin suffered a bit from it too. Though I did like the Kenshin 'gaiden' OVAs.

Eva was an exercise in pretentiousness that Roman Poliakov would have been proud of.

Japanime is always better in the original with subs...I hate dubbing, they alwayts screw it up.....like Naruto.

Ghost in the shell the series and the first movies were leet. Second movie...I don't know...didn't really like the second.

Evangelion (I believe there are 12 episodes) - FTW. I would suggest getting the english dubbed versions though, the sub titled version gets a bit crazy as they say a lot of crazy stuff fast :D

Cowboy Bebop is pretty funny.
GITS, the series. First movie was nice, 2nd was really shite and boring.

Hellsing, saw 3 eps of it and said meh. Sam Cham I saw upto ep 16 last year, it's decent but not upto Cowboy Bebop standards. Then I recently saw the rest....OMG the filler eps were so funny, and the ending :(

Anyways, I love Cowboy Bebop. I've started watching GITS: 2nd gig or whatever (its on cartoon network). I haven't watched GITS the movie, though, never got around to it.

Vol. 13 is the end of the anime. Besides that the anime is just like the manga besides cutting out puck, and the skull knight saving ricket.

PS It's pretty easy to find the manga if you want to read it just google for like "hawks berserk", or "evil genius berserk".

Watch Jin-Roh... subbed. Then watch it dubbed. Then watch it dubbed and subbed at the same time (if you own a legal dvd you can do that.. :p ). You get nearly 95% accuracy. The voice actors are also top notch for English. They actually released Jin-Roh in America before they released it in Japan, although it was made in Japan. It had to do with semi-political reasons since the movie had to do with WW2 and all.


I'm sorry, but you cannot say all anime = porn, although there is anime that does = porn and there is a lot of anime that has a lot of sexual innuendo and scantly clad people. But then again, that's the same thing with live action video/movies/shows. LOTS of eyecandy, lots of crude jokes and implications, HELLA LOT of porn. If you think anime sucks because it's all about sex, I bet you don't watch any kind of tv or movies.
It sucks that a lot of the "classic" anime that made it to america has sex or unnecessary nudity, such as Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll. First impressions are everything and it's sad that those were chosen to make the first impression on people. It's fine to include that kind of stuff when it's a part of the plot or slightly necessary, but when it's just there to grab adolescent boys' attention it's just stupid.

Bleach is very nice untill episode 62, then they swich to fillers! If u dont want your bleach experience to be ruined, then go on and read the Manga! The thing about bountous is OK, but it really is bad compared to the manga!

Most animes are born out of a sucessful manga (illustrated book/comic), and generally follow the story. However the pace of an anime is much faster than the manga (you can pack much more into 30 mins of anime than a weeks edition of manga), so unless the manga has finished, they have to fill in episodes of the anime so they don't catch up/overtake the manga. The problem is that a lot of it is utter shite, it's random stuff that the anime writers have come up with, and it can't impact the storyline. Naruto is coming to the end of about 26 weeks of fillers, which was utter tedium. Naruto is about ninjas, so they had to think up new stuff about ninjas that was new, and irrelevant to the storyline. Most of them were 2-4 ppart mini stories, but some of them were terrible.
The lowest part I though was with the cooking ninjas, but oh no. Couple of weeks later and you getninja postmen.

Some of the bleach filler can be quite funny, the random single episode ones that is, which generally centre about the secondary character in the meantime that the main ones are up to something else.
