View Full Version : Two capped monks in n00b MC5

Okay first off I should mention we didn't exploit or anything, it was just simply a loophole that got fixed about two days after we've done it. I've gotten permission from Nid to post this, so it's all legit.

This isn't earthshattering stuff either, but we're really the only ones to ever do it (if anyone else did it in the way we did, post screens :)), and it was really fun.

How we did it? It was the start of NC2 (beta just finished IIRC, and this was my first time logging onto my APU who was stuck in MC5 and needed to get out of there, so I got QD to bail me out) and the Tank in front of the Gene Place outside in the real-world MC5 was tagged as "Exit mc5", which led to being GR'ed into n00b MC5.

Now note, this was fixed later, but I still got a few shots off of us being inside.

The two monks are QD and myself, me being the one who took them.

Oh yeah, the stuff that doesn't show up in the screenies is me intimidating some Tangent n00b who took his LE out. I honestly believe he pissed his pants when he saw us inside and our levels and well..... the fact we were hostile to him. I didn't do anything to him though, mostly because of the fact that I wasn't supposed to be there. :p

Anyway, enjoy.

Did you kill that 80/80 Base Commander? Talk about easy MC5 Parts, lol

Two friends of mine once started noob characters and managed to level there and kill a commander in noob mc5. They said he didn't drop parts.

The one in the newbie MC5 doesn't drop anything.

I seem to recall that it was "no weapons drawn". But even if I could, I didn't want any mischief to trace back to me. I could just imagine devs coming in with MC5 base dead.

No-one knew of this (aside from SSX members) until now :p We wanted to keep it that way to prevent any chances of misunderstanding.

When I start new chars, there are almost always belts at the guards feet from noobs who make the mistake of slashing at him with the knife. Unless it's changed, you can use your weapon there.

I killed him a few times back in NC1, he didn't drop anything then either. Neither do the class specific NPCs outside =D

You aren't the only ones who've been there capped. A few people I know of (one being in TFC, a capped tank) synced into the noob MC5 sector due to bugs.
