Ok heres an idea I want to see if people agree with it or we can come to some sort of concensus as it would make the balancing easier if people worked out where they think each class should lie within the offense and defense stakes.

My thought is


Offense Defense

Spys 80% 20%
Tanks 50% 50%
APU 100% 0%
PPU 0% 100%
PE 60% 40%

Offense (Highest to lowest):

APU
Spy
PE
Tank
PPU

Defense (Highest to lowest):

PPU
Tank
PE
Spy
APU

Ok anyone any comments?

Blessed Hybrid 30% 70%
Holy Hybrid 60% 40%

You can't rate things like this by class - you need to go by profession.

In the realm of offense, melee should do more damage than heavy. Pistols should do more than rifles, but rifles should aim quicker from a distance giving them range. Drones should do lesser damage than both pistols and rifles as a support class (with the exception of Kamikazis)... etc, etc...

Im guessing that you mean that a hybrid should be the same as a PE? Because In the current state they certainly arent, I would say that they have more defenses than a PE and more offenses, so they in effect actually break the 100% mold that I was trying to put all the classes into.

And for the other comments in the thread, Im not trying to include every type of class, Im just trying to work out where people feel that the classes should fall into with respect to offense and defense. Do you think that the PE should have better defense capabilities than a Tank? Or should it be the other way round?

Na, i didnt lvl mine any further after the Patch went online. :p
Besides: Tank 50/50? Why so? They should DEFINITELY have more Offense, then Defense. Even more so then a Spy. Id say:

APU 90/10
HC-Tank 80/20
MC-Tank 70/30
Pistol-Spy 70/30
Rifle-Spy 60/40 (Rifles are a bit more difficult at PvP i think)
Pistol-PE 50/50
Rifle-PE 40/60
PPU 10/90

Something along that, id say (blessed and holy Hybs not included).

Care to mention where the 10% offense comes from for a PPU? Lol dont mention soul clusters....

I'm thinking perhaps Spy should be even higher than the 80% / 20%, more like perhaps 85% / 15%, even though that's not a big difference.

Although that doesn't take into account all those people who drug for shelter etc, but that's the general idea.

Everyone drugs for shelter atm if they play a pistol spy, I personaly don't think this suits the class and agree that a spy should be the 2nd best dmg dealer after an apu. However the spy would have more defence due to tl 3 heal and oblit.

- i don't think that's really defense, it's escape ... and i think that's the point ...

They're supposed to be able to get away easily, not take lots of damage.

The problem with this is (for me, anyway) ... juts how do you calaculate offense/defense?

I mean, there are so friggin' many options for each class to do damage and to protect itself, not to mention actual skill.

KK stated that Tanks should be more defensive than offensive aka being able to stand at an apu's face and diss him :) with enough time to run off lol

So tanks should be maybe 40%/60% ? Which i think is what KK want, in real life it tanks would be 100/70 why? because a honking great 20mm auto cannon would out kill a 9mm pistol any day. However Neocron isnt real life so KK can fantasy it up however they like. Cannons can do less than pistols which i find laughable really the xbow out classing a bloody missile launcher.

Real life would see the xbow wound someone while the tank with a moonie would splatter the poor spy or pe with one hit.
