Hello.

I am looking for a Network Scanning tool which contains:

1. Working with IP Ranges like 170.12.1.1-170.12.254.254.
2. Name dissolution
3. and Ping
2+3 at the same time.

At the moment i work with SuperScan 4 but this tool is a little bit crapy.

Greetings Kaldera.

Sorry for double post but its look like a bigger chance to find a tool if i ask in two areas.

Look at www.insecure.org/tools.html. There is a tools section. Maybe you can find something there that will help you.

It is a site about security. They list a lot of different tools to check networks.

make one yourself.

The ranges are easy to deply using something like excel to fill a form etc, and the like...

If I get time today I will make some batch files that you can run, that will output to a text file...

"if i get time"..if not, there easy enough to make yourself

Speaking about network scanners, does anybody know of a cheap network analyzer tool that doesnt cost a fortune, and can certify 10/100/G/10G (maybe but not important) patch cables/plugs?

(don't rush amswering with those cheap continuity testers)
