Reading this :D

Ok im going to assume this is right:

AV AP DR
0 0% 33.33%
25 16% 27.78%
50 33% 22.22%
75 50% 16.67%
100 66% 11.11%
125 71% 9.44%
150 73% 8.75%
175 75% 8.22%
200 76% 7.78%

AV: Armour Value (including resists)
AP: Armour Protection
DR: Damage Remaining.

This i got from neocron.ems

My question is, IS that right? If so then really there is little point in having more than say 125 armour, as there is only an additional 5% damage resistance increase. Also their is almost no point in specing for 200 armour because it only increases your resistance by 1%. And since i believe resistance cap is 119 then 119 poison, 125 fire xray and energy would be all you'd need, in theory.

So basically is there any point in try to gain an addittional 75 armour in all 6 resists or is it just a waste of skill points, i mean after all a shelter will do better than that little 5% (according to neocron.ems a holy shelter would increase the defense from 71% to 88%, with the complete maximum being 89.9% with 200 resists and a holy shelter)

I only ask because this would greatly change my tanks set up, meaning i'd need to do some lomming and I really REALLY don't want to lom everything then discover that all that lomming was a total waste of time, cash and effort. Also will armour remain the same in 2.2 because if your going to change everything in 3 or 4 months it may not be worth lomming once then lomming back...

Thanks :D (also link is http://neocron.ems.ru (http://neocron.ems.ru/resist.html))

It is WRONG.

But it's indeed true that speccing a lot of points to go for 200 is silly.
Youre better off with some more health/runspeed.

Here are the test results I obtained with a buddy a couple of days ago, using capped ravager with standard ammo (full energy dmg) fully healed aiming at my head.

Without shields, I took most of the time :

58 health points per hit at 109 energy resist
52 health points per hit at 139 energy resist
47 health points per hit at 190 energy resist

Now with foreign 450%ish holy shelter :

32 health points per hit at 109 energy resist
28 health points per hit at 139 energy resist
25 health points per hit at 190 energy resist

According to those results, after 5 hits of this Rava a weak tank lost 290 health points where a capped one only took 235.

And what did the resistnumbers inbetween say? :D
Good job on testing it.
And thank you for sharing the tankvalues with us.

Yeah, and i know it reads "Energy Resist" but is the Value truly ONLY resist Energy-Skill or Skill AND Armor?

So the 80% force and 81% piercing is a bit too much for a spy?

It is WRONG.
Since when?

Afaik, ems.ru is still true for the dmg/armour/resist stuff.

All academic anyway, it will all be changing soon.

Still no offical word though :( shame and if it's changing soon what to?

We dunno what it will be changing to untill Dirus tells us or we start experimenting when 2.2 comes.

DJ, you're a pe, lom all your con and test it in neofrag.

And resist potions don't work in there btw.

Is this true!?

I have never seen a marked difference in the way my armour/resists have performed since I started thinking about my setup, which is about 2 and a half years.

Is this true!?

read my first post then read the rest, Dribble said it's true and it probably is, however in 2.2 i think they are going to change things as it's easy for a pe to get better resists than a tank atm with a shelter... i think a PE can get about 81% while a tank will cap at 76% and thats with 200 in every resist while a PE doesnt need to have that many points in each 125+shelter = 81% what a bum.

Dribble said it's true and it probably is
MADDNESS!!

Anyway, no point in argueing over the current system and little point in speculation over the new one.

neocron.ems.ru is wrong on a number of key issues, while it may have been correct when it was written not much of it is true anymore.

Any chance of getting any more accurate infromation? Also will it be relievent for much longer?

As of right now, theres not much point in giving out any info. We're currently reviewing all the code related to resists and damage, how things will change is yet to be determined.

Thanks for being honest Dirus.
