View Full Version : What do GMs do all day?

I'd like a GM or EGM to come in here and just make a little list of their typical day being a GM in neocron. I've always wondered what goes on with them all day. Are they just unsticking players, fetching belts, or is there anything else they do? And, another thing I've always wondered, what does the GM/EGM RPOS look like? How do GMs spawn stuff? Is it all commandline?
PS: If a GM could take a screenshot of their RPOS or something, that'd be awesome. With any special cool GM items out (Read: Super GM gun blaster, etc.), if it's allowed.

I had the off-idea that the people who take care of the forum take care of Neocron as well. Lord knows their response time on the forum suffers.*

Aswell as the usual ingame bugs etc.
Would be nice to see the table back in TH :D
and if they aint fixing stuff... there prolly working, eating, cleaning up, looking after there families or enjoying Neocron on there normal char
They check help tickets a lot of the time I think.
I know the GMs have their own graphical part of the citycom. They could be seen in the games gfx.pak files before kk made the rule that you cant change the games files anymore..
They also have noclip, godmode, and can change into different models by typing the corrent commands. I remember being told this by GMs in NC1, friends and ones that talked too much I think :p
I don't want to get in trouble for talking about GMs though. :angel:

I have a GM account of course (so I can attend in-game parties and whatnot ;) ) but I don't deal with the day to day business of GMing unless there's an emergency and the officer of the deck sounds general quarters, as it were. Also, do you mean support GM or event GM?

@Drake: Those pictures bring back some good memories, I remember fighting 2 GMs in NF with like 9 other players, all vs. the gms.....nowadays you never see GMs in NF, which is a pity really because it spiced the average NC day up quite a bit.
As for the RPOS then I think they're using the same as us, just that they're probably allowed to modify it all they want. [ edited - please don't post GM commands on the forums ]

....and before anyone starts, all GM actions are logged and recorded.

Its command line i recall a screeny from a GM hitting the official forums with the no_clip command in the chat log, lol And i assume the command was either wrong or they only work on GM account as i couldnt run through walls :p lol
SGMs & EGMs also train newbie GMs, i remember Carbonite coming to fix the hair on my tank with his Padawan who snuck up behind me ¬_¬ lol

hahah yea , at the time we was trying to reset that lvl , we zoned up then back down but it wasnt reset , we was liek WTF , so we ran around seeing if some 1 was down there , then all of a sudden BLAM carb and hoder appeard infront of us , made me jump out my chair almost. but was funny as fuck when they started fighting.

@Foo i actually forgot to take change Skin so i did support a few days later with that one and scared someone else ;)
Ill see if one of the GM's wants to write their typical day of doing Support.. (he/she will not be able to post it themself though, so ill post it, when its done)
I remember a long time ago I asked for support from a GM, he was in training.
I was on MB bunker roof and I saw some player following me around. For about 5 minutes, saying nothing. Just watching me. I was about to shoot him for it because it was weird. Just as I'm about to he says "Hi, GM support here =)"
Then the other GM supervising him crashed :lol:
So we had to stand around for about 5 minutes waiting for him to come back so we could continue :p

At cycrow when me and blade said there was a tree in the OP that wasnt there before and you tried to get rid of it, was so funny "stand back....." lost the screenys when made the new comp :(
