Im a bit confused. The timeline seems to suggest it's about 2755, but the CityCom terminal forums seem to suggest it's about 20 years later than that (unless I just can't read the text).
What year is it in NC atm?

In terms of storyline it 'after 2755' and not much after.
But to give the game feasable night and day cycles the actual ingame time seems to speed off ahead of itself so just assume its about 2756 :p
Move your mouse over the body-icon on the bottom right of your R.P.O.S.
There it gives you the exact ig date.

I read you loud and clear Tratos but I'm hoping an official source will grace me with an answer.
Well none of the Neocronicles are dated, and it's definatly after 2755 as Tratos says, as the storyline stops there.

Umm.. according to the clock on Uranus, the ingame date was 10 October 2823 yesterday. Not sure what date it is in NC2 (roll on payday!).

Currently on my tradeskiller (Unreal) it says 02/01/2750.

I think neocron time is 6x faster than real time.
afaik 6 minutes real = 1 hour nc
could be wrong, go time it out :p
Asheron's Call 1 had this same thing going on. It's 17 PY in that game but depending on the server, the date can be vastly different. I think it's nearing 100 PY on some servers but the official storyline time is only 17 PY.

In-game time/datekeeping isn't worth getting into. It doesn't work reliably that I'm aware of. Best to go by Neochronicle/Voice of the Resistance.
Supposedly, time in-game advances at 3 times the speed of normal time, so one NC day is 8 hours long. I swear the sun rises and sets several times per hour, though.
Having said that, the in-game mission timers are notoriously problematic, so if a mission says you have four days to complete it, don't be surprised if the timer expires after eight or 10 hours instead of 32.

The time information was to warn you that the mission timers and the HUD clock are rarely synchronized.
