Let scamming continue. Let scamming get so bad people sneak into your vent server to protend they're someone you know. Let people email your external email account to start the scamming process.
Let /20's get ripped off from scammers, just because a scammer likes to piss people off, now that it's considered an unofficial tradeskill.
Let the scammers start ruining the playerbase, to where, soon enough, the entire IRL playerbase is so untrustworthy they'd steal a big pack of construction greese.
A chain reation will start. Scrammed, turn into scammers. Those who haven't been scammed aren't social enough, and they'll be scammed sooner or later. Then the scammers get into the clans. The scammers evolve, waiting for their time to make their move. Waiting for this clan to get a lead on some heavy price items. The cabinets are raided. Soon, the clans turn into scammers, scamming everyone, including themselves. There is no honour among theives.
Now, we're fighting to control this outbreak of mass untrust. Clans are no longer safe, neither are the people you see in game. People start complaining about it, in the dozens. Suddenly the same people that said "I've never been scammed, you dumbasses!" starts crying out for KK to do something about his four slot rare primary weapon that a clanmate scammed out of him. The wave of complaints against scammers, here, is just the tip of the icerberg. Let the playerbase turn rotten, let people start quitting out because of how ungodly-trustworthy everyone is.
