Some ppl think it's a joke about the snow in NC, well here's a screeny of it (well some of it, I tried to focus on the splash effects on the ground instead :D)
Damn, i havent seen any livesnow :(

I bet it's just a defector sanctum you tolk a photo of.
If it is real go out side and show us a whole area that it is snowing.

1) It DOES rain inside Neocron City/The Dome, so one cannot say it wouldn't snow in these places either.
2) This screenshot looks like very poor proof of snow. I need a close-up of the snowflakes AS THEY FALL, not the splash effects. It is, after all, far too easy to say that it's a deflector sanctum running.

the snow seams to evaporate when it hits the ground... would you really want it to accumlate and get a even lower FPS?
i am just happy theres finally a snow effect after all this time, been asking for it for ages and finally we get some snow...

cant they whiten some terain around a mountainus region and localize the snow there? i think it would make more sense then making it snow out in the wastes... with baren desert land.

The splash effects are somewhat disturbing as it looks too much like semen for me not to check the rooftops for a phantom jerker as Im running around Plaza :D

I think they -should- go ahead and drop the diffusion rate of the snowflakes when they hit the ground, so it can build up a bit more snow cover over time. NC's graphics are getting dated anyways, anyone not running on a Crackerjack 386 shouldn't have much of an FPS problem o_O

don't get me wrong, credit for trying something new but tbh it looks like someone took a tippex pen and splattered it at a screenshot of NC. I just think there's a lot more inmportant things they could be concentrating on than making it snow (which doesn't stick) and yeah I know 'graphics dept. is different from coding dept. blah blah blah' but come on, if you're gonna do something, do it properly and make it look at least half realistic. As it stands I'd be embarassed to tell anyone it snows in the game I play incase they wanted to see it.... Especially with all these new great models they're introducing I just think it looks cheap and half assed. Like they promised to introduce something and now they feel they gotta just for the sake of it.

Well it's the first time they've actually tried it in-game, you can't see the effects of your coding until it's put into a program and run, y'know. They'll probably tweak it in the future :)
I dont find the snow badly programmed or anything and I didn't notice any fps drops at all, great work reakktor.

I would only br fucked off about the snow if its removed after christmas. Big fights look so cool in the snow. However a few snowy terrains wouldnt be a bad thing

@KK - just one prob - I zone from one snowy area to a non-snowy. I think you're as near as dammit as you can get to weather and stuff in zones - but is there anyway to have a weather affected region on teh map? IE several zones all synchronised to the same weather? It's lovely right now - but it's just a bit abrupt stepping out of a blizzard into sunshine in the space of 5 feet over a zoneline :p

But snow in the NC desert (its snowing in syncon quite often) seems kinda wierd to me, whereas it looks really nice in the mountains (shot is redrock).
I dont find the snow badly programmed or anything and I didn't notice any fps drops at all, great work reakktor.I think that's mostly because they overdid the `fog` effect, and when it snows your draw distance is hammered down to about 10 metres :D
